AECOM is seeking a Part-Time Geologist Supervisor for our Syracuse, NY location. The geologist will need to have extensive experience conducting geoarchaeological investigations and writing geoarchaeological reports. Tasks will include working with archaeologists on geomorphological surveys, archaeological/Geotech soil boring monitoring. They must be willing and have the ability to travel.Archaeologists must have knowledge of basic field excavation techniques, the ability to identify Precontact and Historical artifacts, understand site and feature formation processes, be able to properly fill out and quality check field and laboratory forms, and be able to draw accurate profiles and plan views, and be able to direct others in these efforts.This position may consist of both extensive manual labor including augering, examination of geotechnical borings, walking for long periods, and excavation with shovels. Office work will require the ability to sit for long periods and work with computer monitors.
