A day in the life of a specification consultant at AECOM:<ul><li>Prepare Architectural Specifications that reflect detailed project requirements.</li><li>Advise Clients on Design Responsibility issues and how the form of Contract and procurement route affects the Specification format/ deliverables.</li><li>Advise Clients on material usage.</li><li>Coordinate Architectural Specifications with Contract Conditions/ Preliminaries and Specifications prepared by other disciplines e.g. Structures and MEP.</li><li>Develop and keep up to date with technical standards, products and innovation as they relate to our Consultancy business.</li><li>Attend internal and external meetings to obtain project briefing information and provide consultancy service as necessary to prepare project specific documentation.</li><li>Familiarise oneself with the Clients brief and scope of our service such that deliverables are aligned with agreed project scope.</li><li>Maintain a working knowledge of project finances and raise potential financial issues with Line Manager/ Team Lead.</li><li>Carry out projects in line with AECOM QA/ QC and Health and Safety requirements.</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues on multiple projects under direction of Team/ Project Leader.</li></ul>How will you bring your best self to work.<ul><li>Demonstrate proficiency in the responsibilities of the role.</li><li>Evidence of good technical design understanding.</li><li>Good technical knowledge of modern construction techniques, methodologies and standards.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of UK Construction procurement methodologies and how these relate to Specification Documentation.</li><li>Experience in the preparation of Architectural Specifications.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English Language).</li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database applications; NBS Create experience is desirable.</li><li>Able to work logically and methodically to achieve high quality outputs as well as being self-motivated and able to take responsibility.</li><li>Ability to understand and work to an agreed scope and project budget.</li><li>Flexible attitude to new ways and methods of working.</li><li>Ambitious and enthusiastic with a good understanding of the design &amp; delivery process.</li><li>Good understanding of BIM.</li><li>NBS Chorus experience would be advantageous.</li></ul>
