We are organized as a public benefit corporation and are backed by leading venture capital firms, private investors, philanthropic investors, and endowments.We strive to be the best team on the planet and we compensate our team accordingly. Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide leadership for offshore operations including load outs, wet towage, deployments, recoveries, moorings, and various test campaigns.</li><li>People manager for small team of technicians who perform offshore operations.</li><li>Coordinate efforts of critical vendors including vessel operators, ports, equipment operators, divers, etc.  </li><li>Work alongside engineering to commission and test new equipment utilized for offshore operations.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering to improve existing and develop new means for offshore operations.</li><li>Work with leadership to build and grow offshore team structure.</li><li>Oversee maintenance of owned equipment.</li><li>Interface with regulators as required (USCG, ABS, etc.). </li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of experience leading hazardous offshore operations. </li><li>10+ years of experience performing hazardous offshore operations.   </li><li>Ability to travel up to 50% offshore. </li><li>Ability to travel 300+ miles offshore, outside of helicopter Search and Rescue range.</li><li>Demonstrated record of developing and promoting a culture of safety within organizations.</li></ul>Desired Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with ocean towing and towing vessels.</li><li>Experience performing novel offshore operations (i.e. executing a new operation for the first time).  </li><li>Experience overseeing fabrication and commissioning of industrial equipment. </li><li>Experience collaborating with engineering groups. </li><li>Experience building out new teams. </li><li>Relevant maritime education / certifications as applicable.</li></ul>Schedule &amp; Availability<ul><li>This position is based on a rotational offshore schedule, working long shifts while offshore to support 24/7 operations.</li><li>While on hitch, you should expect 12-hour days, seven days per week, in a dynamic offshore environment.</li><li>When off hitch, you are expected to spend part of your time on-site at our Portland headquarters to lead planning, lessons-learned reviews, vessel/readiness preparation, and cross-functional coordination.</li><li>The Offshore Lead is a frontline leadership role; flexibility for weather, vessel availability, and mission timelines is required.</li></ul>Compensation and BenefitsIf hired for this full-time role, you will receive:<ul><li>Cash compensation of $180,000 - $230,000.</li><li>Equity in the company.
