This role can be done on a "hybrid" basis--meaning, a combination of work from home and work out of any of our Ontario offices. Job Summary: We are seeking an individual with a strong engineering background, expertise in owner's engineering, a proven track record in underground subway station design, familiarity with LEAN design and construction methods, and experience in Progressive Design Build (PDB) or Design-Build (DB). The ideal candidate will also actively participate in working groups on behalf of the owner to review, discuss, and contribute to design decisions.Major Responsibilities:Owner's Engineering Leadership:<ul><li>Leverage extensive experience in engineering to oversee the review of design deliverables, ensuring compliance with owner requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.</li><li>Collaborate closely with the owner's engineering team to provide valuable insights and recommendations, particularly in the context of underground subway station design.</li></ul>Design Compliance Review:<ul><li>Methodically review design documents for underground subway stations, ensuring adherence to stringent compliance standards, safety regulations, and owner specifications.</li><li>Implement and manage quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of design deliverables, with a focus on project-specific output specifications and performance specification requirements.</li></ul>RFI Coordination:<ul><li>Take responsibility for coordinating responses to RFIs, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to address inquiries and ensure timely and accurate responses.</li><li>Collaborate with the design team to incorporate RFI responses into the overall design process while maintaining compliance with project requirements.</li></ul>Shop Drawing Reviews:<ul><li>Oversee the review of Shop Drawings, ensuring they align with project specifications, compliance standards, and design requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with project teams and contractors to facilitate the timely review and approval of Shop Drawings.</li></ul>Progressive Design Build (PDB) or Design-Build (DB):<ul><li>Bring experience and expertise in Progressive Design Build (PDB) or Design-Build (DB) methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design and construction processes.</li><li>Collaborate with project teams and contractors in the successful implementation of PDB or DB approaches for subway station projects.</li></ul>LEAN Design and Construction Methods:<ul><li>Demonstrate familiarity with LEAN design and construction methods, utilizing these principles to optimize project workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall project efficiency.</li></ul>Active Participation in Working Groups:<ul><li>Represent the owner in working groups, actively participating in discussions, and contributing to design decisions.</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and project teams to ensure alignment with owner objectives and project goals.</li></ul>Project-Specific Output Specification and Design Manual:<ul><li>Lead the development of project-specific output specifications, performance specifications, and design manuals for underground subway station projects.</li><li>Ensure that design processes align with established specifications and contribute to the creation of comprehensive design documentation.</li></ul>Collaborative Leadership for Subway Station Projects:<ul><li>Lead and inspire the design team in creating solutions that align with engineering excellence, project specifications, compliance requirements, PDB/DB methodologies, and LEAN principles.</li><li>Foster a collaborative environment that seamlessly integrates compliance considerations, innovative project delivery approaches, and active participation in working groups.</li></ul>Project Management for Underground Infrastructure:<ul><li>Manage the design process for underground subway stations, ensuring compliance with owner expectations, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and PDB/DB principles.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address unique challenges associated with underground design and ensure timely project delivery.</li></ul>
