The position is permanent and location in Segensworth, Fareham, United Kingdom. ​What you will be doing:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Executing daily workshop service tasks: Inspections/overhauls, reconditioning, modification, testing, cleaning, and machining on a variety of 4-stroke engine components. The role requirements are varied and suitably challenging to keep this role interesting.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Operating heavy lifting machinery: Forklifts, overhead cranes.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Undergoing appropriate training: Gain the competencies needed to excel in this role.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Producing accurate digital reports and records: Building service reports and records as you work with our new digital solution.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Liaising closely with the Workshop Senior Technician and other Workshop Technicians: Ensure work scopes are kept within the specified delivery schedule.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards: All activities in the workshop and on-site must adhere to site safety rules and the Company’s Health and Safety standards, as well as ISO 9001/2015 quality standards.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Playing an integral part in the workshop team: Strive to achieve common goals and meet customer requirements, which may require working overtime hours.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Carrying out proactive preventative maintenance tasks: Ensure the ongoing reliability of our equipment.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Performing all tasks to ensure maximum stakeholder satisfaction: Both internal and external stakeholders.</li></ul> You will shine in this role, when you have:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">A vocational education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Proven technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul service environment.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">The ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Knowledge of repair procedures: Such as welding and machining.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">A genuine interest in engineering and hands-on work.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">A desire to continuously improve and effect positive change to push our team forward.</li></ul> We will require you to:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Have the right to work in the United Kingdom.</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;">Commute daily to Segensworth, Fareham.</li></ul> Why you and us:We at Wärtsilä believe in empowerment, ownership and taking responsibility of our work.
