The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.</p><p></p><p>The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.</p><p></p><p>Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated <b>Project Manager - Substations</b> to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations teams.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>The Project Manager will be responsible for total control of all aspects of the project and will ensure the construction of the project meets time frames and budgets.</li><li>Accountable for the construction component of the project, and team motivation, in conjunction with the project Commercial Manager and Project Engineers, identify key areas of variance from the estimate/cost plan and manage/approve subcontractor time extensions.</li><li>Develop overall planning strategy by reviewing program document and incorporating major milestones in the delivery process.</li><li>Fully understand the details of the design brief and associated cost plan</li><li>Review and analyse aspects of constructability/buildability with respect to design development.</li><li>Operate within project governance frameworks.</li><li>Manage issues, risks, and opportunities effectively.</li><li>Ensure that legislative and authority critical issues are communicated quickly and efficiently to senior management.</li></ul><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p style="text-align:inherit;"></p><p style="text-align:left;"><b>Required Skills and Competencies</b></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><ul><li>Preferable 12+ years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment on substations and renewable energy projects</li><li>Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above</li><li>Possess an advanced, detailed knowledge of engineering and construction principles.</li><li>Understand all aspects of contractual terms and conditions.</li><li>Able to take financial responsibility and accountability for the profitability of the project.</li><li>Experience managing construction budgets to allow accurate profit/loss forecasting.</li><li>You have a professional and ethical image to the client, subcontractors, relevant regulatory authorities, consultants, and project team</li><li>Ensure the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for the ACEREZ D&amp;C project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on ACEREZ D&amp;C standards.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Project Manager positions start in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits.
