The OMT will focus on operations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our renewable microgrid systems. BoxPower is seeking an energetic, organized, flexible candidate, who is eager to learn and multi-task in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly growing company. The OMT will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our remote microgrids through performing preventative/proactive maintenance, active monitoring, pre. The OMT’s role is vital in upholding our successful track record of near 100% reliability, while advancing our mission of providing clean and cost-effective energy solutions.   This role reports to the Sr. Service Operations Manager. This role has no direct reports. This role is based “in-office” locally at BoxPower HQ in Grass Valley, CA and blended with travel ~50% of the time to scenic remote sites across the Western US. Transportation, accommodation and per-diems are covered as part of travel. Key Responsibilities <ol><li>Operations and Maintenance:<ol><li>Lead the monitoring team in oversight of our client-contracted microgrid systems. </li><li>Understand nuances of each system’s operations and proactively identify potential issues. Formulate strategies with field services/engineering teams for corrective actions.   </li><li>Identify areas for continuous improvement of processes, methods and responses times.  </li><li>Aim to uphold our 99.7% power reliability record and department profitability.  </li></ol></li><li> System Maintenance:  <ol><li>Coordinate and conduct routine maintenance checks (typically bi-annual) on microgrid systems to identify and address any potential issues with Inverter, PV, BESS, Generator, Structural, Mechanical systems.   </li><li>Lead annual diagnostic tests to confirm guaranteed capacities and optimize system performance and efficiency.  </li><li>Collaborate with service/engineering teams to implement preventive maintenance programs as needed.  </li><li>Be the primary liaison, coordinator with 3rd party service providers/partners.   </li></ol></li><li>Documentation:  <ol><li>Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service activities, including installation, maintenance, and repairs.  </li><li>Lead the generation of work orders, hazard analysis, field service reports, incident reports and performance reports.</li><li>Manage/improve our documentation tracking system.    </li></ol></li><li>Troubleshooting:  <ol><li>Respond promptly to service calls/alerts when on-call and troubleshoot issues related to microgrid systems.  </li><li>Analyze system logs and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve technical problems efficiently.  </li><li>Be able and willing to mobilize or assist in providing on-site support to resolve complex technical challenges.   </li></ol></li><li>Customer Support:  <ol><li>Interact with clients and end-users to address concerns, provide training, and ensure customer satisfaction.  </li><li>Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical concepts and solutions in a clear and understandable manner. </li><li>Assist in vetting and developing service partner relationships. </li></ol></li><li>Installation and Commissioning:  <ol><li>Assist as needed in the installation and commissioning of microgrid components, including solar panels, energy storage systems, generators and control software/hardware.  </li></ol></li><li>Collaboration:  <ol><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and sales, to enhance overall system performance and customer experience.  </li><li>Provide feedback to the development team based on real-world experiences in the field.  </li><li>Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications during installation processes.</li></ol></li></ol> Skills and Qualifications:  <ul><li>Technical diploma or degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.  </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems.  </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of AC &amp; DC electrical systems, power electronics, and Modbus/Canbus devices/control systems.  </li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, battery energy storage, generator systems.   </li></ul><ul><li>Computer software competence with Microsoft 365, Cloud-based project management software, real-time communications tools,  </li></ul><ul><li>Working knowledge in navigating/configuring LAN/WAN/Networking is a plus.   </li></ul><ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.  </li></ul><ul><li>Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.  </li></ul><ul><li>Certifications (desired):  </li></ul><ul><li>NABCEP Solar PV Installer Certification.  </li></ul><ul><li>Certified Energy Manager (CEM).  </li></ul><ul><li>Relevant safety certifications (OSHA, NFPA, First Aid, etc.). </li></ul></div>
