We strive to transform the global automotive market by enabling low-cost and long-range EVs as a first step towards net-zero sustainability in the near future.Position: We are looking for a Battery Manufacturing Technician with battery construction, manufacturing, and/or R&amp;D lab experience and programming/coding skills to carry out electrode fabrication, cell assembly, electrochemical testing, and data analysisCore Responsibilities:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Coat and calendar Coreshell’s 60Ah-scale electrode rolls following strict specifications.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Operate complex electrode fabrication machinery on the Pilot Line. Must be comfortable performing some manual tasks such as lifting weights no heavier than 25kg.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Characterize electrode features and defects using materials analytical techniques such as SEM/EDX, adhesion testing, resistance measurements, etc..</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Clean equipment and tools after electrode production runs in a timely manner.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Record parameters used and observed in cell/electrode fabrication processes in runsheets.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">With the assistance of the Manufacturing team, characterize cells and battery materials, using both electrochemical methods &amp; materials analytical techniques.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Report inventory of manufacturing consumables.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Follow and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Comfortable performing manual tasks requiring precision and dexterity.</li></ul>Required experience:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Background in cell assembly or R&amp;D lab work is required. Experience working in controlled-atmosphere dry rooms is preferred.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Background in fabrication of lithium-ion batteries is a plus.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Highly self-driven, detail-oriented candidate with a history of problem solving and an ability to wear many hats.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Familiarity with chemistry lab safety protocols. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe, tidy, and organized work areas.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Previous experience performing electrical tests, as well as chemistry and materials analytical instruments, is preferred.</li></ul>Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in the battery industry OR a B.S. degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or similarly relevant field.Location &amp; Benefits: San Leandro, CA.
