The OpportunityWe are looking for a self-starter Senior Software Engineer who loves building new products in an iterative and fast-moving environment. In this role you will be bringing our state-of-the-art AI models to farming operations around the world. Our users include growers, packhouse managers, fruit exporters and business decision makers. You will collaborate closely with our product team to gain a deep understanding of our users, to bring them the features they want the most.  You will play a key role in our effort to deliver technology that solves some of agriculture's hardest problems. What you’ll do<ul><li>Build and scale the platform (web, mobile and our external api) to handle Aerobotics’s growth and ambitious mission.</li><li>Own the development of new customer-facing features and product experiences end-to-end</li><li>Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, and agronomists to release well-rounded products which add value to our customers.</li><li>Contribute to the long term technical strategy of our products and system.</li></ul> What you’ll need<ul><li>5+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies</li><li>Proficiency with JavaScript, React, and other web technologies</li><li>Proficiency with some backend language (we use Python)</li><li>Some experience with relational databases like Postgres/MySQL</li><li>Some experience with cross-platform mobile frameworks like React Native</li><li>Interest in the agricultural industry (direct experience not required)</li><li>Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines </li></ul>Application Process<ul><li>Submit your CV and a brief motivation for the role at Aerobotics</li><li>Preliminary virtual interview with our Head of People</li><li>Technical assessment</li><li>Technical interview with our Tech team</li><li>References and background checks.</li></ul></div>

History: Since founded in 2014 by James Paterson (CEO) and Benji Meltzer (CTO) we have grown to an 85+ people team.

Where we are based: Right now we have 2 main offices in Cape Town and Los Angeles, in addition to this we have Sales Managers on the ground across the world - working remotely and mostly spending their days with our growers.
