Auditors travel to client sites, perform inspections, determine compliance, review corrective actions, and submit their audit reports for review and certification. This is a remote, full-time employee position with SCS.This position requires the candidate to reside in the Southeastern region of the United States due to regular audit activities and on-site client visits.Relevant Standards/Schemes<ul> <li>GlobalG.A.P. Certification</li> <li>GMP/GDP</li> <li>PrimusGFS Certification</li> <li>SAI - Farm Sustainability Assessment</li> <li>Sustainability Standard</li> <li>Others, as determined</li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities Audit Services<ul> <li>Adhere to all quality and code of conduct standards</li> <li>Conduct audits using applicable checklists, forms, and tools</li> <li>Submit complete and accurate audit reports within established timelines</li> <li>Maintain positive client relationships and respond to all client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner</li> <li>Conduct technical reviews in the off-season and during down times</li> <li>Attend trainings to maintain qualification to conduct audits</li> <li>Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulations and standards</li></ul>Audit Administration<ul> <li>Work with SCS’s Client Services team to accept/confirm audits</li> <li>Prepare and send client audit plan according to protocols</li> <li>Book travel, hotel, and transportation according to company policy, and submit expense reports in a timely manner</li> <li>Collect and review documents as needed as part of the audit process</li> <li>Assist with the development and maintenance of program quality documents</li> <li>Timely email communication both internally and externally</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Crop and Soil Science, Food Science, Food Technology, or other related scientific areas of study or</li> <li>Associate's Degree in a related food science area may also be acceptable and</li> <li>5+ years of industry experience in a practical capacity on a farm or in a technical production management role related to food crops and</li> <li>3+ years of experience conducting GFSI-level food safety audits</li> <li>Strong passion for food safety and sustainability</li> <li>Excellent communication and customer service skills</li> <li>Highly organized and deadline-driven with superior time management skills</li> <li>Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database systems</li> <li>Willing to travel up to 80%, mostly overnight travel throughout the U.S.</li> <li>Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation</li> <li>Food Hygiene training on water quality, organic fertilizer, personal hygiene, equipment, and other agricultural food safety challenges</li> <li>Accredited 16 Hour HACCP training</li> <li>Lead Auditor Training</li> <li>IPM Pesticide and Fertilizer Training</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish</li></ul>The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
