This Role: BioLite is looking for a Carbon Project Manager to lead the development, verification, and issuance of carbon credits across our portfolio of clean energy programs in 10+ sub-Saharan African countries. You will report to the Associate Director, Carbon Development and collaborate with our carbon, product, and regional operations teams to ensure accurate measurement and documentation of climate impact. You will independently manage verification and issuance cycles, coordinate field data collection and analysis with local staff, and support project implementation in close partnership with the communities we serve. This role requires well-developed quantitative skills, strong project management capabilities, proficient English writing skills, and familiarity with leading carbon methodologies such as Gold Standard, Verra, and the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism. You will also manage relationships with regulatory agencies, distribution partners, carbon verification bodies, and other project developers. By ensuring that carbon credits from BioLite’s clean energy products are successfully issued, you will play an important role in advancing BioLite’s mission of bringing energy everywhere. You Will: Manage workflows in the following key areas: 1. Project Planning and Implementation<ul><li>Manage carbon projects with a complex calendar of project monitoring and verification.</li><li>Manage field teams, partners, and contractors to achieve project milestones.</li><li>Develop field budgets, work plans, and risk management frameworks.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Host country laws, carbon standards, and internal policies.</li><li>Work with distribution partners in order to properly incentivize them to maximize stove sale data return rates.</li></ul> 2. Carbon Methodologies and Compliance<ul><li>Oversee the application of relevant methodologies (e.g., GS TPDDTEC v4.0, VERRA VM0050, etc).</li><li>Manage data systems for stove sales data collection, baseline surveys, and usage monitoring, and emission reduction calculations.</li><li>Coordinate validation and verification audits with DOEs/VVBs.</li><li>Ensure timely issuance and delivery of carbon credits</li><li>Represent BioLite in sector platforms, working groups, and carbon finance forums.</li><li>Engage host governments and national regulatory bodies under Article 6 bilateral agreements.</li></ul> 3. Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV)<ul><li>Lead collection, quality control, and analysis of stove usage data (KPTs, monitoring surveys, temperature sensors).</li><li>Prepare Project Design Documents (PDD), Monitoring Reports, and Verification Report inputs in advance of verification audits based on data collected from the field via external consultants. </li><li>Ensure high-quality documentation aligned with standards and auditors’ requirements. </li></ul> You Have:<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline with a strong background in science, math, engineering, or other related training.</li><li>4 to 8 Years of managing large field-based projects in Africa.</li><li>Experience with carbon offset projects, preferably on household cookstoves·</li><li>Experience with digital data collection tools (Kobo, ODK) and carbon monitoring tech (temperature sensors, IoT devices).</li><li>Experience with MRV/dMRV systems, quality assurance, and emission reduction calculations.</li><li>Knowledge of UNFCCC Climate negotiations, including the Paris Agreement (Art 6)·</li><li>Strong writing, analytical, and quantitative skills</li><li>Experience managing budgeting, planning, and reporting processes</li><li>Proficiency in English.
