Position Overview:Solid Power is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. This position requires the ability to learn and apply a wide set of engineering skills. Experience working in a pilot-scale processing or manufacturing environment is desirable. This role reports to Manufacturing Engineering management and will work closely with other operators and manufacturing engineers.Job Duties:<ul><li style="font-size:12pt;">Work with industrial automation equipment related to lithium-ion cell manufacturing.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Have experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies to implement changes in a cross-functional manner.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Design/identify hardware to aid in inspection of manufacturing processes.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Train operators on new processes to a proficient level.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Lead small-scale slurry processing with team and be proficient in operation, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Documentation of engineering processes including writing work instructions and standard operating procedures.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Data analysis of production data to determine process efficiencies.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Work closely, collaboratively, and effectively with other departments and team members.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Find ways to reduce cost and maximize quality.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Own SRC countermeasure tracking and work with peer group to ensure countermeasures are completed on time and deemed effective.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Ability to flex coverage to support off-shift tasks as required.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Ability to be in a Dry Room environment for extended periods.</li></ul>Qualifications/Requirements:<ul><li style="font-size:12pt;">Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">2+ years of related industry experience, preferably with lithium-ion cell manufacturing and testing.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred but not required. Certification required within the first year in role with company support.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Experience with Minitab or JMP is preferred.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Experience in a production environment preferred.</li><li style="font-size:12pt;">Experience with process data analysis and statistical analysis preferred.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li style="font-size:12pt;">Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR</li></ul>Salary Range: $65,000 - $95,000/yearBenefits: Solid Power offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid Life/AD&amp;D/STD/LTD insurance, 401k with company match, 8 paid holidays + the week between Christmas and New Years off, Unlimited PTO, up to six (6) weeks paid FMLA leave, cell phone reimbursement and eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity plans. Export Control Requirements: This position could require access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
