You will be responsible for utilizing core skills in surface mount technology (SMT), manufacturing, soldering, and electrical wiring to assemble and test electronic components. This role involves cross-training opportunities in other departments to enhance skills and support team needs.Essential Job Functions:<ul><li>Perform quality checks on components and completed assemblies.</li><li>Perform precision soldering using soldering irons.</li><li>Work from drawings and process documentation.</li><li>Inspect solder joints per IPC-A-610 standards.</li><li>Maintain a clean work station.</li><li>Work with engineers to provide input on soldering techniques and contribute to product improvement and innovation.</li><li>Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.</li><li>Fill out work routers and other related paperwork accurately.</li><li>Operate and maintain soldering equipment, including soldering irons, hot air guns, solder pots, and soldering stations, ensuring they are in proper working condition.</li><li>Operate SMT pick and place machine for PCB assembly.</li><li>Preparing soldered sub-assemblies for use in production.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Experience with PCB assembly.</li><li>Capable of soldering and de-soldering of surface mounted devices and through hole components.</li><li>Experience using hand tools, power tools and digital multimeter.</li><li>Knowledge of different soldering materials, fluxes, and solders, and their appropriate usage.</li><li>Good organizational and record-keeping skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as a team player within a small team.</li><li>Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.</li><li>Understand basic ESD (electro-static discharge) handling requirements.</li><li>Demonstrates the ability to concentrate for extended periods on highly repetitive tasks.</li><li>Ability to meet production rates with a high level of quality.</li><li>Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts.</li><li>Familiarity with electronic components, assemblies and manufacturing techniques is required.</li><li>Must adhere to scheduled start times and maintain reliable attendance.</li><li>Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned outside of normal soldering work as required.</li></ul>Desired skills:<ul><li>IPC 610/620/JSTD or equivalent certifications are a plus.</li><li>3+ years of soldering/assembly experience preferred.</li><li>Good time-management skills and able to set priorities</li></ul>#qioptiq  Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
