In this hands-on role, you’ll support the manufacturing ramp-up of electronic equipment and gain exposure to a wide range of products—from flight computers to pilot inceptors. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team that includes Quality, Production, Design, Supply Chain, and more.</p><p> </p><p>We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, self-driven, and eager to take ownership of projects while working under the guidance of experienced mentors. This is an exciting opportunity where your contributions will have a rapid and meaningful impact across the organization due to the fast-paced environment at Joby Aviation.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Create and develop manufacturing work instructions.</li> <li>Develop processes for manufacturing, assembly or manufacturing testing. </li> <li>Design and create drawings for tools, jigs, and fixtures.</li> <li>Improve existing production line, processes, procedures fixtures and tools</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Pursuing undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering; previous co-op, internship, or related work experience required</li> <li>Heading into junior or senior year of undergraduate degree or above</li> <li>Available Summer 2026</li> <li>Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills while working with cross functional teams</li> <li>Strong analytical and practical understanding of mechanical design and design for manufacturing.</li> <li>Ability to take a proactive hands-on approach to problem solving, prototyping and iterative design.</li> <li>Proficient with 3D CAD and 2D drawing software</li> <li>Practical manufacturing or machine shop experience</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><p>Relocation Assistance: This position does not offer relocation assistance.
