Job Description:The Geotechnical Trainee will be based in Hyderabad, India. In this position, you will report to the Manager Geotechnical Engineering. The candidate will work on, including but not limited to, review of Geotech reports, understand the soil conditions, foundation design, corrosion assessment, value engineering, and various other engineering tasks, to support project quoting and execution phases. Further, the candidate will be interfacing with Engineering, Sales, Project Management, and R&amp;D teams at Nextpower’s offices around the world. Watch “<a href="https://youtu.be/BtjIN9oHRMY?si=ONfWJ-vFlLZckjrE">Culture is our Passion</a>” to learn more about us.We are looking for someone who demonstrates:<ul><li>Passionate drive to innovate and create </li><li>Integrity to the core</li><li>Enthusiastic customer focus</li><li>Consistent interactive teamwork </li><li>Desire for continuous improvement and top performance </li></ul>Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:<ul><li>Review the Geotechnical reports for different projects globally, understand the soil / rock conditions and judge the strength parameters</li><li>Perform the foundation design using the LPILE and in house developed tools</li><li>Corrosion design of steel piles for different sub soil condition as per the local standards</li><li>Planning and preparation of the specifications for pile load testing</li><li>Review &amp; Interpretation of pile load test reports</li><li>Preparation of final foundation design document</li><li>Assisting the CAD team in delivering the foundation drawings and other deliverables</li><li>Addressing the various challenges which arise during construction stage and resolve them.</li></ul>Here is some of what you’ll need (required):<ul><li>M.E. / M. Tech in Geo-Technical Engineering</li><li>Knowledge on different filed tests like SPT / CPT / DCPT tests and their correlations.</li><li>Demonstrate the knowledge on open &amp; pile foundations. SBC &amp; Settlement calculations for open foundations, Axial &amp; Lateral capacity of pile foundations.</li><li>Dealing with collapsible / liquefiable / swelling / frost susceptible soils.</li><li>Hands on experience in conducting / witness the pile load tests.</li><li>Review and analysis of pile load test reports.</li><li>Understanding the Geotechnical site issues and addressing them spontaneously.</li><li>Working knowledge with MS office tools, developing the design tools.</li><li>Excellent verbal &amp; written communication skills</li><li>Working knowledge on LPILE.</li></ul>Here are a few of our preferred experiences:<ul><li>Basic of idea of load transfer mechanism of various structural elements</li><li>Knowledge on StaadPro, RISA or any FEM software</li><li>Knowledge on International standards</li><li>Middle East, African, Europe and Australia region experience</li><li>Self-motivated team player</li><li>Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects</li><li>Programming languages VBA / Python</li><li>Experience in the renewable industry is a plus</li></ul>At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
