Consider joining the Duke Energy team, where you'll find a friendly work environment, opportunities for growth and development, recognition for your work, and competitive pay and benefits.THIS POSITION IS FOR TEMPORARY WORK AND OUTAGE WORK.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Performing Journeyman level duties in the installation, repair and maintenance of facility electrical support equipment, systems and components</li><li>Performing corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.  Interprets design drawings and O&amp;M Manuals in locating and diagnosing trouble in electrical equipment, components and systems.  Replaces worn, damaged or failed equipment and components in support of facility operations</li><li>Demonstrating and conducting any required inspections/post-maintenance testing of systems, equipment and components as necessary to complete work packages and ensures systems equipment and components are returned to operational conditions</li><li>Maintains accountability of property, including tools and maintenance equipment</li><li>Performs Preventive Maintenance tasks, following pre-determined checklists in the performance of preventive maintenance</li><li>Understanding and utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, measurement and test equipment and Fluke multi meters in the performance of duties</li><li>Utilizing P&amp;ID drawings, schematics and technical specifications in locating and diagnosing trouble in electrical/electronic equipment, and power systems</li></ul><h2>Basic/Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Minimum 2 years work experience in journeyman electrical position with one year in power plant or related industry</li></ul><h2>Desired Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Ability to demonstrate an understanding of electrical theory and application</li><li>Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills</li><li>Formal Electrical training such as vocational-technical school, trade school, military or apprenticeship</li><li>Experience with single phase fractional HP motors to three phase fractional and larger motors through 300 HP switchgear troubleshooting and repairs</li><li>Experience with Industrial wiring, high voltage, panel wiring and motor controls</li></ul><h2>Specific Requirements</h2><ul><li>Must be able to climb and work in high spaces</li><li>Must be capable of working around rotating equipment and high pressure systems of power plants</li><li>Must be capable of working in confined spaces</li><li>Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment</li><li>Must be able to perform all duties required for this position</li><li>Must be able to work safely around and with energized circuits</li><li>Must not be impaired by color-blindness</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Onsite Mobility Classification - Work will be performed at a company facility</li></ul>Travel Requirements5-15%<h3>Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable)</h3>No<h3>Represented/Union Position</h3>Main IBEW Florida Union<h3>Visa Sponsored Position</h3>No<h3>Please note that in order to be considered for this position, you must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.</h3><a href="https://www.duke-energy.com/legal/privacy">Privacy</a><a href="https://www.duke-energy.com/legal/ccpa-opt-out-request-form">Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CA)</a><a href="https://www.duke-energy.com/legal/terms-of-use">Terms of Use</a><a href="https://www.duke-energy.com/customer-service/accessibility">Accessibility</a>
