<h2>Overview</h2>General SummaryThe Senior Director of Business Development is responsible for meeting quarterly and yearly sales objectives. They are responsible for finding and developing new customers to create a robust “funnel” of active opportunities that facilitates meeting the company’s annual sales objectives.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Key Functions <ul> <li>Prospect, engage and qualify prospective customers. Generates meetings through the BDMs network and prospecting activity to create new solar PV and energy storage business opportunities within both the public and C&amp;I sectors to build a sales opportunity funnel.</li> <li>Find and develop new channel partners to create new business opportunities and accelerate growth.</li> <li>Nurtures existing opportunities from 1st meeting to customer “trigger” event. Ability to effectively build trust and present Solect’s proposed solutions to key decision makers.</li> <li>Collaborates with the Sales Operations team on marketing campaigns and new lead generation ideas, including attending events and trade shows.</li> <li>Engages with internal resources throughout the sale cycle for design, engineering, proposal development, and contract support to facilitate the closing of new business.</li> <li>Maintains the status and metrics of all project opportunities in Salesforce</li> <li>Performs post-installation follow-up with the customer to ensure satisfaction and generate additional projects with the customer and from the customer’s network.</li> <li>Miscellaneous activities: Training (70-20-10 plans), company initiatives, meetings, etc.</li> <li>Takes leadership on key initiatives and OKRs.</li></ul>  <h2>Qualifications</h2>Qualifications The Senior Director of Business Development should have at least three years of successful sales or development experience in the Commercial Solar and/or Storage Industry, or the Energy Sector; a strong local network with the ability to access “C-level” key financial decision makers; previous experience working with both Private and Public Sector customers in a collaborative setting; strong financial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of finance concepts and how they apply to “C-level” financial decision makers which include but not limited to: Payback, Depreciation, Internal Rate of Return (IRR); excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to follow a disciplined project development and workflow process within a team, manage multiple engagements and projects on a daily basis; possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently. The Senior Director of Business Development should also have the following:<ul> <li>Will need to visit customer sites to perform a solar assessment. Occasionally this requires climbing a ladder to access a roof.</li> <li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and Salesforce or like CRM packages.</li> <li>Formal education: minimum college degree, BS or BA.</li></ul>   Special Position Requirements<ul> <li>Travel is required fifteen (15%) of the time throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.</li> <li>Must be located within and able to travel to the geographic location of the territory they serve for the purpose of conducting in person meetings &amp; presentations and conducting site evaluations.</li> <li>Having a background in electrical power is not critical but is helpful in excelling in the role.</li></ul>  Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. This range is an estimate, and base pay may vary above or below these amounts based on several factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees at all levels.
