<h2>Overview</h2>General SummaryThe Senior Director of Business Development is responsible for meeting quarterly and yearly sales objectives. They are responsible for finding and developing new customers to create a robust “funnel” of active opportunities that facilitates meeting the company’s annual sales objectives.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Key Functions <ul> <li>Prospect, engage and qualify prospective customers. Generates meetings through the BDMs network and prospecting activity to create new solar PV and energy storage business opportunities within both the public and C&amp;I sectors to build a sales opportunity funnel.</li> <li>Find and develop new channel partners to create new business opportunities and accelerate growth.</li> <li>Nurtures existing opportunities from 1st meeting to customer “trigger” event. Ability to effectively build trust and present Solect’s proposed solutions to key decision makers.</li> <li>Collaborates with the Sales Operations team on marketing campaigns and new lead generation ideas, including attending events and trade shows.</li> <li>Engages with internal resources throughout the sale cycle for design, engineering, proposal development, and contract support to facilitate the closing of new business.</li> <li>Maintains the status and metrics of all project opportunities in Salesforce</li> <li>Performs post-installation follow-up with the customer to ensure satisfaction and generate additional projects with the customer and from the customer’s network.</li> <li>Miscellaneous activities: Training (70-20-10 plans), company initiatives, meetings, etc.</li> <li>Takes leadership on key initiatives and OKRs.</li></ul>  <h2>Qualifications</h2>Qualifications The Senior Director of Business Development should have at least three years of successful sales or development experience in the Commercial Solar and/or Storage Industry, or the Energy Sector; a strong local network with the ability to access “C-level” key financial decision makers; previous experience working with both Private and Public Sector customers in a collaborative setting; strong financial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of finance concepts and how they apply to “C-level” financial decision makers which include but not limited to: Payback, Depreciation, Internal Rate of Return (IRR); excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to follow a disciplined project development and workflow process within a team, manage multiple engagements and projects on a daily basis; possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently. The Senior Director of Business Development should also have the following:<ul> <li>Will need to visit customer sites to perform a solar assessment. Occasionally this requires climbing a ladder to access a roof.</li> <li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and Salesforce or like CRM packages.</li> <li>Formal education: minimum college degree, BS or BA.</li></ul>   Special Position Requirements<ul> <li>Travel is required fifteen (15%) of the time throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.</li> <li>Must be located within and able to travel to the geographic location of the territory they serve for the purpose of conducting in person meetings &amp; presentations and conducting site evaluations.</li> <li>Having a background in electrical power is not critical but is helpful in excelling in the role.</li></ul>  Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
