The current Propulsion expert team consists of 3 skilled experts. You serve both internal and external customers with all operational technical inquiries related to Wärtsilä Propulsion Equipment. You will provide this support in the field of installation, maintenance and troubleshooting for related equipment’s. You will report to General Manager Technical Services Central Europe Region. The preferred location for the position is Glasgow, United Kingdom. Other locations in Central Europe Region (Specifically Hamburg, Germany or Schiedam, Netherlands) will be considered.  What will you be doing? As Technical Expert Propulsion, your work will focus on these responsibilities :<ul><li>Manage complex technical and operating problems of the customer and internal stakeholders to reach quality with on-time support and to ensure customer satisfaction.</li><li>Participate in customer and/or vendor meetings as a technical expert, when complex technical matters are handled</li><li>Perform troubleshooting and technical field investigations and screening of field service reporting.</li><li>Visit sites when deeper product, system and/or performance analysis is needed</li><li>Analyse field experience and customer feedback data to improve the products and solutions as well as operation and maintenance of the installation.</li><li>Make complex analysis with adequate conclusions, recommendations and writing logical understandable reports</li><li>Be responsible for handling Technical Requests received from internal and external customers.</li><li>Communicate directly with internal and external customers related to technical enquiries</li></ul>  To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: <ul><li>A safety-first mind-set.</li><li>Degree in Mechanical engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent.</li><li>A high level of mechanical and automation experience with Wärtsilä propulsion equipment. Experience with non-Wärtsilä propulsion equipment is a strong plus.
