Job Summary: As a Welder/Fabricator II, you will take on more advanced welding and fabrication tasks, requiring a higher level of skill and experience. In this role, you will be expected to execute complex welding techniques, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and ensure high-quality outcomes while adhering to safety and industry standards.Responsibilities / TasksKey Responsibilities:Advanced Welding and Fabrication:<ul><li>Execute Complex Welds: Perform advanced welding techniques such as TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.</li><li>Fabricate Components: Assemble and fabricate metal components and structures based on detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.</li><li>Use Specialized Equipment: Operate and maintain advanced welding equipment and fabrication tools, including plasma cutters, CNC machines, and metal forming equipment.</li></ul>​​Quality Assurance:<ul><li>Inspect Work: Conduct thorough inspections of completed welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.</li><li>Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Identify and address defects or issues in welds and fabrication processes, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain quality.</li></ul>Project Management:<ul><li>Coordinate Tasks: Manage and prioritize tasks within projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.</li><li>Liaise with Team Members: Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to coordinate work and address any project-related concerns.</li></ul>Safety and Compliance:<ul><li>Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.</li><li>Ensure Compliance: Maintain compliance with industry regulations, standards, and company policies related to welding and fabrication.</li></ul>​Training and Mentorship:<ul><li>Support Junior Staff: Provide guidance and training to less experienced welders and fabricators, sharing knowledge and best practices to help them develop their skills.</li><li>Mentor New Team Members: Act as a mentor to new hires or less experienced team members, assisting with their onboarding and development.</li></ul>Process Improvement:<ul><li>Identify Improvements: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall quality.</li><li>Innovate Techniques: Explore and apply new welding techniques or materials that could benefit the company’s fabrication processes.</li></ul>​Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of work performed, including any issues encountered and corrective actions taken.</li><li>Report Progress: Provide regular updates to supervisors on project status, potential delays, and any challenges faced.</li></ul>Your Profile / QualificationsEducation and Experience:Qualifications:<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED.</li><li>Completion of a vocational or technical training program in welding and fabrication is preferred.</li><li>Basic knowledge of welding techniques and metalworking tools.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Physical strength and stamina to handle materials and operate equipment.</li><li>Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.</li></ul>The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $23-$26 per hour.  GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position.
