This pivotal role is key to Climate Bonds’ mission of propelling climate-aligned finance and acts as the primary initiative for engaging financial institutions on a global scale. The Business Development Manager collaborates closely with the Client Success team, which focuses on effectively delivering contractual benefits and meticulously tracking member engagement. While the Client Success team manages operational tasks, the Business Development Manager is responsible for enhancing strategic influence, facilitating bilateral information sharing, and promoting the adoption of Climate Bonds’ definitions and criteria. Additionally, this position plays a vital role in achieving NGO impact goals engaging members in grant-funded initiatives. A portion of the Business Development Manager efforts will be allocated to these projects, underpinning activities such as market development, capacity building, and the advancement of sustainable finance standards.How you'll contribute:<ul><li>Serve as the primary strategic partner for a portfolio of CBN members, deepening relationships and focusing on influence.</li><li>Facilitate reciprocal influence: help members shape Climate Bonds’ work and ensure Climate Bonds reflects market needs.</li><li>Position CBN as the go to platform for engaging private sector financial institutions on Climate aligned finance.</li><li>Drive strong participation in network activities, strategic dialogues and criteria consultations to accelerate market transformation </li><li>Support grant-funded projects by engaging members in capacity-building initiatives and reporting impact outcomes.</li><li>Act as a trusted advisor to members, providing insights on Climate Bonds’ criteria, market trends, and sustainable finance developments.</li><li>Connect members with internal experts and tools to accelerate adoption of climate aligned investment.</li><li>Deliver engagement and growth for your region, recruiting new Climate Bonds network members and identifying upsell opportunities.</li><li>Create a compelling network experience that attracts and retains members.</li><li>Co-pilot member relationships with Client Success Managers, ensuring strategic engagement complements operational delivery.</li><li>Coordinate internally to align member feedback with product development, criteria evolution, and grant-funded initiatives.</li></ul>RequirementsYou should apply if: You're passionate about our work and the mission of Climate Bonds!<ul><li>You have a strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience.</li><li>You have a deep understanding of private sector financial institutions and sustainable finance.</li><li>You have the ability to translate technical content into actionable insights.</li><li>You are experienced in sales, account management, or network/community building.</li><li>You're familiar with Climate Bonds’ criteria and sustainable finance frameworks.</li><li>You can demonstrate excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.</li></ul>BenefitsWhat's in it for you?📍This role is fully remote⏰ We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, at times that suit you and your team.✈️ Opportunities to work from another location✅ Make a meaningful impact every day!

The Climate Bonds Initiative is an international, investor-focused not-for-profit and the only organisation in the world working to mobilise the $100 trillion bond market for climate change solutions. 

Supported by a 50-member Advisory Panel, CBI has an international stakeholder base among institutional investors, NGOs and the finance sector.

The aim is to develop a large and liquid Green and Climate Bonds market that will help drive down the cost of capital for climate projects and improve access to lower-cost debt in emerging markets.
