Our work improves mobility, resilience, clean water access, and community connectivity across Canada.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead and independently organize work plans, design tasks, and deliverables for medium- to high-complexity tunneling and underground projects.</li><li>Apply commercial numerical modelling software, including finite and distinct element tools, to support advanced analyses.</li><li>Develop, verify, and validate analytical design spreadsheets for geotechnical and structural calculations.</li><li>Provide expert guidance in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and ground–structure interaction to multidisciplinary project teams.</li><li>Contribute geotechnical and structural expertise for underground components on major transportation and water conveyance projects.</li><li>Provide technical input for tunnel design methodologies, means and methods, and proposal development.</li><li>Design tunnels using TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) and SEM/NATM (Sequential Excavation Methods).</li><li>Design SOE (Support of Excavation) systems for shafts, pump stations, portals, cut-and-cover structures, and deep excavations.</li><li>Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering workshops, and risk management activities.</li><li>Prepare contract documents, design reports, technical specifications, and drawing packages.</li><li>Review and supervise the work of intermediate engineers and mentor interns, especially on numerical modelling tasks.</li><li>Collaborate closely with internal disciplines, external partners, and clients to support successful project delivery.</li><li>Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of AECOM’s tunneling standards, tools, and best practices.</li></ul> <ul></ul>
