The System Engineer is responsible for participating in the proposal process, technical contractual review, technical contractual exhibit creation and management, scheduling, overseeing the Project Design (Electrical Design Package, Communication, and minor Software), Commissioning, and Technical Support of AC and DC electrical systems associated with utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Key accountabilities: <ul><li>Delivers engineering solutions, provides support in design, development and project completion to achieve quality and productivity.</li><li>Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver tailored engineering solutions that meet requirements and to integrate engineering expertise into broader organizational initiatives.</li><li>Drives innovation in engineering practices, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance product and system development. Develops and refines engineering processes, methods, and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness of the solutions.</li><li>Acts as a subject matter expert, mentoring and providing technical guidance to other professionals.</li><li>Stays updated on industry trends and technological advancements to inform decisions and maintain competitive edge.</li><li>Ensures engineering activities and projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices, maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.  </li></ul>Applicants should have a solid understanding of: <ul><li>Contractual language and terms</li><li>Fundamental electrical engineering, project management, and construction principles, as well as experience with the designs of high-power electrical systems.</li></ul> We are also open to receiving applications from current/previous On Call Trainee's whose vocational experience with Wartsila would give them good ability to integrate quickly into the team.
