We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.The Role:The Sr Mechanical Designer is responsible for designing new or special pump designs and performs modifications on various pump product lines in accordance with established company specifications and industry standards.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Primarily utilize Creo Parametric 4.0 or later and occasionally AutoCAD Release 2010 CAD or later software to perform applicable Mechanical component design, layout and detail drafting work.</li><li>Works independently on projects with little or no supervision and consults with the Engineering Manager and Project Engineers as required.</li><li>Prepare sketches or drawings necessary to generate pump design layout.</li><li>Work closely with Engineering and other departments to analyze projects for manufacturability.</li><li>Check component and assembly drawings of other department personnel as needed.</li><li>Conduct necessary investigations relative to designs based on internal and customer requirements.</li><li>Ability to work as needed to meet project deadlines.</li><li>Participate in the training of future new Drafting department employees as needed.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience as a Mechanical CAD Designer.</li><li>Hands on mechanical aptitude.</li><li>Computer experience with MS Word and Excel.</li><li>Creo Parametric 4.0 or later along with a working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 or later.</li><li>Ability to produce comprehensive reports.</li><li>Able to effectively communicate written and verbally in the English language.</li><li>Strong leadership skills.</li><li>Strong communication skills. </li><li>Some prior supervision experience is preferred.</li></ul>Xylem does not provide visa sponsorship for this positionPhysical Demands:<ul><li>Light lifting (20-25 pounds), office environment</li></ul><ul><li>Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility</li></ul>#LI-JO2Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
