<h2>Overview</h2><p>The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for executing corporate and plant specific Food Safety, Quality and Laboratory requirements.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Maintain product quality by analyzing manufacturing and engineering requirements and devising testing methods and procedures;</li> <li>Establish product quality documentation by writing and implementing quality assurance procedure</li> <li>Interact with the leadership group, production team members, and maintenance departments to improve and maximize plant output, efficiency, quality and safety</li> <li>Manage Quality Control Program that ensures that product is inspected to meet acceptable safety quality standards</li> <li>Maintain and achieve internal quality targets and measurements;</li> <li>Ensure Production and other support areas of the plant are maintained to highest standards and in strict conformation to GMP standards</li> <li>Achieve quality targets and ensures accurate records of quality compliance;</li> <li>Ensures the cleanliness, sanitation and overall organization of manufacturing areas;</li> <li>Ensures consistency with quality standards, practices, and policies;</li> <li>Support change efforts at manufacturing plant to improve and enhance quality systems;</li> <li>Support training of quality procedures throughout the plant;</li> <li>Communicate with production regarding productivity status and discrepancy;</li> <li>Perform other duties assigned by Executive Management to support the department.</li> <li>Safeguards and maintains company equipment and property, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE);</li> <li>Ensures all areas are kept clean at all times;</li> <li>Attends all company training sessions</li> <li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Must read, write and communicate in English.</li> <li>Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.</li> <li>Must be able to taste all foods with no aversions or allergies.</li> <li>Must follow GMP Policy - wear company issued shirt, hat, safety glasses, earplugs and hairnet in production areas.</li> <li>Able to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment</li> <li>Able to obtain HACCP, SQF practitioner and IBWA certification (within 1 year).</li> <li>Able to perform root cause analysis.</li> <li>Able to communicate and work well with people on all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Able to receive, analyze and report out information efficiently.</li> <li>Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) – ability to follow laboratory SOPs.</li> <li>Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) - ability to keep proper records.</li> <li>Strong computer literacy – MS applications, databases.</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze large amounts of data and determine deficiencies.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy.</li> <li>2-4 years – Experience in food processing</li> <li>Associate Degree in related field</li></ul><p>This position is classified as Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). The expected hourly rate for this position is between $21.00 – $26.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule.
