This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, where you have an outsized impact across the company every day.<h2>About the role</h2>As a Mechatronics Engineer at Sorcerer you'll be responsible for developing flight and ground systems for our high altitude vehicles.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul style=""><li>Work on end-to-end design and manufacturing of PCBAs in the system</li><li>Rapid prototyping, component selection, schematic capture, bring-up, debugging and hardware bug tracking</li><li>Own hardware and software from concept through design to in-flight operation</li></ul><h2>Required Skill &amp; Experience</h2><ul style=""><li>Extensive ECAD experience (we use Altium Designer)</li><li>Component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout</li><li>Experience with common digital protocols including I2C, SPI, USB, etc.</li><li>MCAD experience such at OnShape, Fusion, Siemens NX, etc.</li><li>Experience programming for microcontrollers (bare-metal programming, RTOS, communication protocols)</li></ul><h2>Ideal Candidates</h2><ul style=""><li>Have designed for space or near-space environments</li><li>Have designed something manufactured at-scale - DFM principles are second nature</li><li>Have experience designing complex interdependent systems</li><li>Have experience working in startups and small independent teams</li><li>Succeed with a high level of autonomy</li></ul><h2>Location</h2><ul style=""><li>This is an in-office role at our HQ in SoMa, San Francisco</li></ul><h2>Benefits</h2><ul style=""><li>401k</li><li>Unlimited PTO</li><li>100% Health, Dental, Vision</li><li>Company paid life insurance</li><li>All relocation costs covered (if applicable)</li><li>Catered lunch every day</li><li>Fully-stocked office kitchen</li><li>Commute/parking stipend OR monthly proximity benefit if you relocate to within 30m walk of the office</li></ul>Hiring exceptional people is our top priority, and we believe that exceptional people often have unusual backgrounds.
