deliverables will be</h3><ul><li>Establish, maintain and continuously improve Tokamak Energy's electrical safety rules and associated policies, with a primary focus on low voltage and relevant high voltage systems.</li><li>Lead and oversee the electrical safety management system, ensuring all work on electrical plant is planned, controlled and executed in line with statutory, regulatory and company requirements.</li><li>Act as the senior authority for electrical authorisations (e.g. SAP / AE), defining competencies, issuing and reviewing authorisations, and ensuring robust governance of electrical permits, isolations and switching activities.</li><li>Provide clear, authoritative technical and safety leadership to engineers, technicians, contractors and other stakeholders, promoting best practice in electrical safety and driving a strong, consistent safety culture across the site.</li></ul><h3>In this role, you will</h3><ul><li>Act as the company's Electrical Authorising Engineer (AE), providing independent, authoritative oversight of electrical safety across Tokamak Energy's LV and relevant HV systems.</li><li>Own, develop and maintain Tokamak Energy's electrical safety rules, policies and procedures, ensuring they are robust, practical and aligned with applicable standards and regulations.</li><li>Define and manage the overall electrical safety framework, including the appointment, authorisation, renewal and removal of Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) and other duty holders.</li><li>Lead the design, implementation and continual improvement of safe systems of work for electrical activities, including isolation, lock‑out/tag‑out, testing, commissioning and energisation.</li><li>Review, approve and periodically audit electrical work packages, switching schedules, method statements and risk assessments to ensure appropriate controls are in place and being followed.</li><li>Provide clear, confident technical direction and challenge where necessary, intervening to stop work or change approach if electrical safety could be compromised.</li><li>Chair or participate in electrical safety and operational review meetings, preparing concise reports and recommendations for stakeholders up to senior leadership level.</li><li>Support the development of new and existing LV and HV infrastructure by advising project and engineering teams on electrical safety requirements at concept, design, installation and commissioning stages.</li><li>Lead and coordinate incident investigations for electrical events and near misses, identifying root causes, defining corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring they are implemented.</li><li>Assess competence and training needs for electrical duty holders, support the design of appropriate training pathways, and promote a strong, just and learning safety culture.</li><li>Liaise with internal stakeholders, external partners and relevant authorities as the recognised subject matter expert for electrical safety within Tokamak Energy.</li><li>Promote adherence to safe working practices in all electrical activities, acting as a visible role model and champion for electrical safety on site.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>A background in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience.</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate substantial, hands-on experience working with low volume (LV) electrical power systems.</li><li>Demonstrate experience of acting as, an Authorising Engineer, Senior Authorised Person (SAP / SAP(E) / SAP LV) or equivalent role with formal responsibility for electrical safety and control of work.</li><li>Hold recognised Authorising Engineer / Senior Authorised Person training or qualifications for LV, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence and be willing to undertake AE training.</li><li>Be a skilful communicator and facilitator who can confidently engage with technicians, engineers, contractors and senior stakeholders, exert appropriate authority, and constructively challenge unsafe practices.</li><li>Be an exceptional integrator who can work across multiple teams and sites to embed and uphold electrical safety rules, procedures and permits-to-work through strong interpersonal and influencing skills.</li><li>Ability to translate electrical safety policies and legal / standards requirements into clear, practical instructions, guidance and training that are easily understood and applied by others at all levels.</li><li>Able to interpret complex technical situations on LV, assess electrical hazards and risks, and apply strong problem solving and sound, defensible decision making in real time.</li><li>Experience working in dynamic, changing operational
