Position OverviewAt AECOM, the Environmental Assessment Analyst will play a critical role in guiding our clients through complex environmental challenges. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to sustainable projects and further your career with a global leader in engineering and environmental solutions.Preferred Requirements:<ul><li>Sampling: Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor samples using techniques like core sampling, monitoring wells, and vapor intrusion testing.</li><li>Laboratory Analysis: Send samples to certified labs to test for contaminants such as VOCs, heavy metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, and PFAS.</li><li>Data Interpretation: Analyze results to quantify contamination levels and assess environmental and health risks.</li><li>Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, contamination levels, and recommendations for remediation or further investigation.</li><li>Regulatory Compliance: Ensure assessments meet ASTM E1903 standards and local environmental regulations </li><li>Records Review: Examine historical aerial photographs, fire insurance maps, building permits, environmental databases, and other documents to assess past land use </li><li>Site Inspection: Conduct visual inspections of the property and adjacent areas to identify signs of contamination (e.g., stained soil, dead vegetation, underground storage tanks) .</li><li>Interviews: Speak with current and past property owners, tenants, and local officials to gather information about site history and potential environmental concerns.</li><li>Report Preparation: Compile findings into a comprehensive report identifying Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and recommending next steps</li></ul>
