At Hitachi Global Air Power, you will be part of a global network that is shaping the future of industrial power.Summary of the position:The primary responsibility of a Material Processor is the safe, timely, and accurate processing of materials through the supply chain utilizing various equipment, as necessary. This includes system transactions and physical movement of material from receipt through stocking.This position is located at the Hitachi Global Air Power manufacturing plant in Michigan City, Indiana, and reports to the Area Supervisor. Duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>Proper receipt, disposition, and stocking of incoming materials</li><li>Timely replenishment and stocking of materials for production processes</li><li>Timely removal and proper disposal of production scrap and waste</li><li>Internal Cycle Counting/Inventory Management – conduct all system transactions accurately to reach inventory accuracy targets of 98%</li><li>Support finished goods shipment, movement, and stocking for B1 inventory</li><li>Strict adherence to safety and quality procedures in all activities performed</li></ul>Qualifications:Education:<ul><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent</li></ul>Professional experience:<ul><li>Minimum two years of material handling experience in a manufacturing/production environment</li><li>Demonstrated experience safely and proficiently utilizing material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, fork trucks, and cranes to move large and bulky loads</li><li>Ability to pass fork truck driving test</li></ul>Key behaviors:<ul><li>Personal attributes to include attention to detail, punctuality and adaptability as well as capacity to cross train.</li><li>Lifting up to 35 lbs.</li><li>Lifting over 35 lbs. requires a lifting device, crane, or assistance from another associate.</li><li>Standing and walking minimum of 8 hours.</li><li>Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, kneel and twist.</li><li>Working with cranes, sharp edges on machined parts, and moving parts by carts.</li><li>Must understand and comply with Sullair Safety Standards.</li><li>Participate in EHS quarterly audits, if required.</li><li>Required to wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the work area.</li><li>Required to attend scheduled toolbox and safety meetings.</li><li>Must immediately report injuries or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.</li><li>Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime</li><li>Good Communication Skills</li><li>Team Oriented</li><li>Passionate</li></ul>Direct reports:<ul><li>N/A</li></ul><div></div>The successful candidate is responsible for complying with Hitachi Global Air Power US Code of Ethics and related policies.
