With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>We are seeking a highly skilled Python developer with 5+ years of Python Development experience, preferably having 2+ years of experience with ARP4761 or ARP4754A processes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building robust tools and automation solutions in support of safety-critical systems development and certification. </p><p> </p><p>The primary responsibility of this role is software development in Python to build software tools that support systems engineering and system safety processes.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li><p>Design, develop, and maintain Python-based tools and automation scripts in a Windows environment. </p></li> <li><p>Contribute to system engineering and system safety efforts for complex systems, including documentation and tool support. </p></li> <li><p>Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of systems engineering and system safety related software tools.</p></li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelors or higher degree in Engineering discipline - Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace preferred.</li> <li>5+ years of professional experience in Python development, preferably in a Windows environment.</li> <li>Experience with aircraft reliability and maintenance programs.</li> <li>Able to read and review technical schematics and engineering drawings and specifications.</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>FAA certification experience, specifically certifying complex, integrated aircraft systems.</li> <li>Experience with 2X.1309 analyses and guidance material – such as Advisory Circular 23.1309-1E, SAE ARP 4761, and SAE ARP 4754A</li> <li>A basic understanding of aviation software development and system communication protocols.</li> <li>A basic understanding of RTCA/DO-178 and RTCA/DO-254.</li> <li>Experience using STPA methods on complex systems. </li> <li>Familiar with Dassault Systemes engineering and management tools.</li> <li>Private pilot certificate</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $126,000 - $174,000/yr.
