The starting rate for this role will be $28.93 per hour.<h2>Job Summary </h2>The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems in an injection molding environment. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components critical to molding operations. The specialist works closely with engineering and production teams to support continuous operation and process improvements.<h2> Principal Responsibilities</h2>Electrical Controls Maintenance<ul><li>Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives.</li><li>Diagnose and repair electrical faults in molding machines and auxiliary equipment.</li><li>Ensure proper functioning of sensors, actuators, and safety interlocks.</li></ul>Automation Support<ul><li>Assist in programming and modifying control logic for process optimization.</li><li>Support integration of new equipment and automation systems.</li><li>Collaborate with external controls engineers on troubleshooting and new applications.</li></ul>Mechanical and Hydraulic System Maintenance<ul><li>Troubleshoot and isolate issues with hydraulic controls.</li><li>Conduct general facility repairs including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.</li><li>Support utility systems such as compressed air, water, and electrical distribution.</li></ul>Preventive &amp; Predictive Maintenance<ul><li>Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.</li><li>Use diagnostic tools to identify potential failures and reduce downtime.</li><li>Complete PMs with details on repairs and parts used.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Safety<ul><li>Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70 E and company safety standards.</li><li>Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.</li><li>Maintain documentation for electrical systems and control panel changes.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications &amp; Experience</h2>Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>Associate degree or technical certification in electrical engineering, industrial automation, or related field.</li><li>3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in injection molding or plastics manufacturing.</li><li>Skills &amp; Competencies</li><li>Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).</li><li>Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and schematics.</li><li>Familiarity with robotics, 3phase motor controls and industrial networking.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.</li></ul><h2>Work Environment </h2><ul><li>Work at heights of up to 16 feet on ladders or platform trucks</li><li>Incumbent will perform job responsibilities safely in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting (to a maximum of 80 lbs).</li></ul><h2>Benefits </h2><ul><li>401K plan with company match</li><li>Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage options</li><li>Vacation and holidays</li><li>Set schedule with bi-weekly pay</li><li>Basic safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs) will be provided</li><li>Reimburse COBRA costs while transitioning to IPEX benefits</li></ul> IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
