The aim is to achieve world class performance levels working in partnership with employees, contractors, customers, and members of the public. What you’ll be doing<ul><li>Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure suitable controls are established, monitored and controlled in order to provide a safe working environment for the area of the post holder’s area of responsibility</li><li>Provide professional leadership and direction to Senior Management and Project Managers across ScottishPower Renewables (SPR)</li><li>Lead and deliver projects and programmes to meet operating objectives within performance metrics and agreed deliverables</li><li>Undertaking continual improvement projects demonstrating ability to impact assess options and provide recommendations for implementation. </li><li>Supporting hazard analysis exercises and technical risk management support for projects </li><li>Undertaking, as Lead Auditor, audits assessing compliance with ISO 45001 and site inspections assessing general operating practices </li><li>Collaborating with other Health and Safety professionals on developing new renewable technology projects e.g., Solar, Battery Storage and Wind </li><li>Supporting projects and operational business in assessing and evaluating design risks </li><li>Develop opportunities for best-practice exchanges including regular facilitation of workshops.</li><li>Providing H&amp;S support to our operational sites (over 2000MW across 40+ locations), working within a team of H&amp;S consultants </li><li>Supporting the safe delivery of our construction programme covering wind, solar and battery storage projects, from conception to operational handover </li><li>Leading on H&amp;S projects and initiatives designed to reduce risk or to improve standards across our portfolio</li></ul>What you’ll bring<ul><li>Educated to degree level or significant compensatory experience</li><li>NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent</li><li>Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety &amp; Health is desirable</li><li>A self-starter and able to work on own initiative with minimal direction</li><li>Knowledge and experience of project management</li><li>A clear understanding of the whole value chain and the key processes within each business</li><li>Ability to operate and positively influence at all levels in the organisation and with external stakeholders</li><li>Ability to devise practical solutions to complex and risk-based problems or challenges</li></ul>As a minimum, you will demonstrate:  <ul><li>Educated to degree level or significant compensatory experience</li><li>NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent</li><li>Proven experience in a H&amp;S role within the utility, engineering or construction sectors</li><li>Proven experience of delivering and performing H&amp;S audits and inspections for a large business area and presenting reports</li><li>Proven experience of acting as H&amp;S subject matter expert from creation of procedures to coaching the associated best practice</li><li>Proven experience of supporting incident investigations</li></ul>What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
