We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.<h2>About the Role</h2>The Systems Integration team at Base is responsible for ensuring our power systems, inverters, and batteries work together as one reliable product in the real world. As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will establish and lead the software-driven integration function, building the tools, pipelines, and team that allow Base to bring hardware, firmware, and software together into trusted, high-quality products at scale. You will work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware Engineering to define how our systems should integrate end-to-end, and then prove it through rigorous, software-driven test and integration frameworks.This is an opportunity to shape how systems integration is done at Base, from first principles to implementation.What You'll Do:<ul style=""><li>Develop new software tools in python, c/c++, and golang that accelerate feature development.</li><li>Define and build the integration test pipeline running HIL and full-system tests on self-hosted CI runners.</li><li>Lead the development of integration software connecting inverters, batteries, and power systems, including gRPC/HTTP APIs, CAN interfaces (including ISO-TP and UDS), as well as UART/SPI/I2C.</li><li>Architect and oversee the development of integration test automation software, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure that validate the system as a whole.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, cloud, and hardware teams to resolve integration issues, influence design decisions, and improve product reliability.</li><li>Generate and communicate detailed integration and system-health reports to support compliance, certification, and executive decision-making.</li></ul>Required Skills / Qualifications:<ul style=""><li>3-5 years of experience in Python, Golang, and/or bare-metal C and C++, with a focus on systems integration, distributed systems, or embedded/software interfaces for hardware products</li><li>A systems-level mindset and passion for integrating hardware, firmware, and software into reliable, resilient products.</li><li>Expertise building integration test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling that validate multi-subsystem software and hardware interactions.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions across disciplines.</li></ul>About the TeamAmerica's power grid is failing - electricity costs have risen even as generation gets cheaper, and blackouts are becoming more common.
