You will help lead Base’s transactional and regulatory needs across the business, providing legal advice on commercial contracts, managing regulatory and compliance issues in jurisdictions where we operate, and supporting the basic legal functions of a scaling organization in a risk-forward environment. You will partner with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks across numerous areas of the business while supporting the development of new business lines. The position reports directly to Base’s General Counsel.What You’ll Do<ul style=""><li>Work with internal stakeholders on partnership deals, contract negotiations, vendor agreements, and real estate and facility leases for a growing manufacturing organization.</li><li>Lead the review of business contracts, MSAs, NDAs, and other business agreements.</li><li>Assist in developing company practices and standards across the organization to mitigate legal risk, including in cybersecurity, employment and labor law, and consumer protection.</li><li>Support the General Counsel in executing comprehensive legal strategies to support the core energy business, including regulatory compliance in the energy and utilities sectors.</li><li>Develop scaled strategies for addressing risk in business-centric ways and build commercial processes that allow the company flexibility and freedom to operate and move quickly.</li><li>Stay current on regulatory and legal developments and advise the General Counsel and senior management on the impacts of new rules and regulations in the energy sector.</li><li>Provide legal support for any potential fundraising activities, including tax equity, project and asset financings, and other corporate transactions.</li></ul>What You’ll Bring<ul style=""><li>6+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in transactional work, with special preference for energy, utilities, or technology sectors; startup or high-growth company experience also preferred.</li><li>Ability to run independently on legal items within a small but surging business.</li><li>Comfort with challenging the status quo and preconceived notions of what is possible.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.</li><li>An entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and prioritizes impact.</li><li>Passion for our work and a commitment to fueling American innovation, security, and prosperity through a more reliable grid for all.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Our Values</h2><ul style=""><li>First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions.
