Build to simplify. Roles &amp; Responsibilities:We are seeking an In-Process Quality Inspector to ensure consistent quality and reliability of battery packs and subassemblies during production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in battery manufacturing or electronics assembly, with a strong understanding of battery cell behavior, safety parameters, and testing processes.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Perform in-process quality inspections across all stages of the battery pack assembly line — from cell preparation to final pack assembly.</li><li>Verify compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and engineering specifications.</li><li>Inspect electrical and mechanical connections, including busbar joints, insulation, BMS wiring, and torque values.</li><li>Monitor and record critical process parameters such as cell voltages, resistance, welding quality, and insulation resistance (IR) values.</li><li>Conduct visual inspection for defects (dents, leakages, misalignment, connector issues, etc.) and report deviations immediately.</li><li>Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for in-process nonconformities and assist in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).</li><li>Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure process control and quality improvement initiatives.</li><li>Maintain inspection logs, checklists, and reports in digital or manual formats as per documentation standards (ISO / IATF / internal).</li><li>Participate in line audits, process capability studies, and continuous improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke).</li><li>Ensure adherence to ESD protection, battery safety protocols, and PPE compliance during inspections.</li></ul>Key Skills &amp; Qualifications:<ul><li>Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field</li><li>Experience - Min 2 to 4 years</li><li>Sound understanding of battery pack assembly, cell types (Li-ion, LFP, NMC), and BMS operation.</li><li>Familiar with electrical testing tools (multimeter, insulation tester, resistance meter, welding checker, etc.).</li><li>Working knowledge of quality tools and techniques (Pareto, Fishbone, 5 Why, Control Charts).</li><li>Basic understanding of drawings, wiring diagrams, and torque charts.</li><li>Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.</li><li>Good communication and reporting skills (Excel, QC documentation).</li><li>Willingness to work in shift operations and fast-paced manufacturing environments.</li></ul>Preferred Experience (Good to Have):<ul><li>Prior experience in EV battery pack / cell assembly or electronics manufacturing.</li><li>Exposure to ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality systems.</li><li>Certification or training in quality inspection / six sigma / IPC standards will be an added advantage.</li></ul>Soft Skills:<ul><li>Strong leadership and communication skills; able to manage multiple stakeholders.</li><li>Analytical and data-driven mindset with practical field execution capability.</li><li>Customer-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to fast-paced EV industry challenges.</li><li>Willingness to travel to customer and field locations.</li></ul>What matters• Empathy toward all customers• Holding Context as your guiding force• Approach towards problem-solving• A positive attitude• Resilient attitude to bounce back after failureAbout UsExponent simplifies energy for EVs.Co-founded by Arun Vinayak (Ather Energy's Founding Partner &amp; Former Chief Product Officer) and Sanjay Byalal (Former hardware strategic sourcing and cell strategy lead, Ather and Former Supply Chain Lead, HUL), Exponent focuses on solving two sides of the energy problem by building the e^pump (charging station) and e^pack (battery pack) which together unlock 15-min rapid chargingThe 200+ strong team has tons of EV experience and is in the process of hiring more professionals to build &amp; scale Exponent as one of the best EV Energy Companies out of India
