Job Description:Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering will serve as a hands-on technical leader responsible for driving the design, development, and validation of advanced electronic systems that power Nextracker’s solar platform.This is a hands-on leadership role, combining deep technical expertise in power and control electronics, communication interfaces, high-speed circuit design, and battery systems with the ability to manage and mentor a high-performing electrical engineering team.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic direction with direct design involvement, prototype testing, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead and contribute directly to the design, development, and testing of advanced electrical hardware for solar tracker and energy management products.</li><li>Manage and mentor a small team of electrical and mechanical engineers, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and professional growth.</li><li>Provide hands-on technical leadership, including schematic design, simulation, PCB layout review, and prototype validation.</li><li>Oversee subsystem design for power conversion, control, communications, and high-speed circuitry.</li><li>Guide development of battery-related electronics, including battery management system (BMS) integration and protection circuits.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust and scalable designs.</li><li>Drive hardware validation, compliance testing, and certification (UL, IEC, EMC).</li><li>Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition to high-volume manufacturing.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.</li><li>Minimum 10 years of experience in electronic hardware design and product development, with strong knowledge of power electronics, communications, and high-speed design.</li><li>Minimum 5 years in an engineering management or technical leadership role, with proven ability to lead and mentor engineers.</li><li>Hands-on experience with analog/digital circuit design, PCB design, and hardware development.</li><li>Strong understanding of communication interfaces (CAN, RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, wireless).</li><li>Proficiency with battery systems and BMS concepts.</li><li>Proficiency with EMI/EMC design practices and regulatory certification (UL, IEC, CE).</li><li>Experience supporting high-volume product manufacturing and design-for-reliability principles.</li><li>Proficiency with embedded systems hardware and close firmware collaboration.</li><li>Ability to perform circuit simulation, signal integrity analysis, and thermal design review.</li><li>Proven record of delivering robust designs from concept to mass production.</li><li>Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.</li></ul> At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
