What you will do-This position is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the Engineering &amp; Maintenance Department at a Battery manufacturing facility. Promotes effective employee relations by providing leadership, coaching, and development of the engineering, maintenance and operations teams. Actively supports and strives to meet the strategic goals set by yourself, the facility and Clarios.How you will do it- <ul><li>Supervises product, process, plant, manufacturing, and engineering projects with the goal to improve process capabilities, drive down cost, and improve ease of manufacturing.</li><li>Directly assist all departments with improving Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity and Delivery. Accomplished through many means, such as capacity improvements, capital expenditures, complexity reductions, lean improvements, equipment maintenance improvements, design improvements, etc.</li><li>Provide hands-on manufacturing support to operations to decrease downtime through TPM initiatives.</li><li>Directs annual budget preparation and allocation of capital funding and the subsequent execution.</li><li>Manage, train, and coach direct reports on project components to maintain timelines, project tasks, and cost structures.</li><li>Ability to drive continuous improvement in 5S/workplace organization.</li><li>Responsible for the design, modification and maintenance of all plant facilities.</li><li>Ability to multitask, manage projects and build cohesive teams to meet targets and objectives.</li></ul>What we look for-Required<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university, required</li><li>10+ years minimum manufacturing experience</li><li>5+ years minimum direct supervisory experience of technical staff</li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills – ability to communicate across all levels within organization and considerable customer interaction.</li></ul>Location- <ul><li>Our Fort Wayne, Indiana distribution center charges, packages and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 1999 and now employ 125+ people and operate six days per week.
