This team is at the center of Joby’s growth strategy—shaping how we commercialize across our business. You’ll work alongside finance, operations, legal,  and the senior executive leadership, including the General Manager of the UAE, to turn strategy into execution—rapidly and at scale. This role will work closely with the Senior Leadership across all functional areas at Joby.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>This is a dynamic role—your work won’t be winged words—you’ll launch high-impact collaborations that soar. You’ll build thoughtful, global, multi-year partnerships that translate into real-world results—whether through collaborative R&amp;D, infrastructure investments, co-branded operations, or shared-scale deployment.</p><p>You will serve as a key commercial leader for Joby’s UAE market, owning market-entry partnerships, priority stakeholder relationships, and early-stage commercial strategy. This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution and will directly shape how Joby scales internationally.</p><p>You’ll spearhead strategic deals across air taxi services, relevant infrastructure, defense and regional markets. Partnering closely with technical and operations teams, you’ll assess feasibility, model value, co-create agreement frameworks, and ensure effective transition into deployment. We’re looking for true execution muscle—driven, strategic, and purposefully bold.</p><p>Today, some of our global commercial partners include Toyota Motor Corporation, the Department of Defence of the United States, Delta Airlines, Uber, the Road and Transportation Authority of Dubai (RTA), Jetex, Abdul Latif Jameel,Virgin Atlantic, L3Harris, and many more. </p><p> </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul> <li>Lead full-cycle partnership creation with government and private sector partners—source, structure, negotiate, and close high-impact agreements.</li> <li>Navigate complex government, regulatory, and quasi-government stakeholder environments, aligning commercial partnerships with long-term policy, infrastructure, and aviation frameworks.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope opportunities, align objectives, and ensure successful execution.</li> <li>Negotiate pragmatic, advancing agreements - knowing when and where to push for optimum outcomes.</li> <li>Drive deal handoff to operations - establish workflows, launch pilots, and monitor execution with integrity.</li> <li>Communicate with clarity - concise memos, crisp summaries, and purposeful decks.</li> <li>Build and maintain relationships across the aviation, aerospace, mobility, and technology ecosystems.</li> <li>Market strategy development - define the commercial strategy for the UAE and the region</li> <li>Represent Joby - With senior external stakeholders, building lasting relationships with corporations, governments, infrastructure partners, and investors.</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul> <li>8+ years in business development, corporate strategy, or deal-making roles with a track record of structuring and closing strategic or commercial agreements—ideally in fast-moving sectors (e.g., aviation, aerospace, mobility, defense, management consulting).</li> <li>Solid grasp of the UAE ecosystem and experience working with UAE stakeholders</li> <li>Arabic proficiency is preferred, but not a requirement.</li> <li>A self-starter with a get-it-done mindset that thrives in dynamic and fast-paced environments.</li> <li>Excellent persuasive communication, stakeholder alignment, and negotiation abilities.</li> <li>Trusted partner to senior executives, comfortable operating with ambiguity, exercising sound judgment, and representing Joby with credibility at the highest levels.</li> <li>Willingness to occasionally work during US business hours and travel regionally and internationally</li></ul>
