<ul><li>The Senior Engineer will report to the project manager/ company management as appropriate.</li></ul><ul><li>To assume responsibility for electrical design activities for EHV substations from concept to detailed design and as-built.</li><li>To prepare EPC scope, Specifications, SLDs, Calculations, Layout drawings etc.</li><li>To review vendor drawings specific to the equipment.</li><li>Focal point responsibility for integrity and quality of the specified discipline equipment and systems.</li><li>To assist in coordinating the Electrical engineering and drafting activities so as to ensure efficient and economical design solutions whilst maintaining the delivery schedule.</li><li>To lead a dedicated Electrical engineering design team</li><li>To assist in the development of less experienced Electrical personnel.</li><li>To prepare requisitions for, and technical evaluations of, discipline material and equipment.</li><li>To ensure equipment vendors provide high quality products for front end and detailed design packages and within the specified time frame.</li><li>To ensure design packages comply with Client specifications and codes, safety, environmental, ergonomic and quality standards.</li><li>To attend FAT as required.</li><li>To manage interfaces with other disciplines.</li><li>To identify potential applications for new technologies.</li><li>To provide and promote effective communications between colleagues and senior staff.</li></ul>Knowledge &amp; Experience Requirements<ul><li>The candidate must have a minimum of 15 year’s of engineering experience in having developed a recognized career path.</li><li>Extensive experience in detail design of electrical systems</li><li>Must be fluent in written and spoken English with good technical skills applied to producing reports, consequently, must be computer literate in use of MS Office applications.</li><li>Must have experience of working within an quality (ISO) environment.</li><li>Good knowledge of applicable design standards and codes gained from a European power design environment is essential, (ie IEC, IEEE, ISO and BS)</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility both as an individual and as a strong team player, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.</li><li>Must have experience in electrical distribution including calculations like CT/VT, Protection, battery / charger etc. and drawings like SLDs, layouts and profiles, cable schedules, HV &amp; LV cable sizing, Wiring/termination diagrams, HV/LV control circuit diagrams, electrical layouts, earthing layouts (incl. calculations), lighting layouts, DC &amp; AC UPS system configurations, vendor electrical drawings, construction scopes.</li><li>Experience in very high voltage systems (400kV) would be advantageous.</li><li>The knowledge of the BIM Model Design Review and approval process shall be required.</li><li>DEWA approval is desired and will be advantageous.</li></ul>
