Our culture supports our values by fostering innovative and critical thinking and a deep belief in living up to our promises.   Headquartered in the United States, Pattern has a global portfolio of more than 35 power facilities and transmission assets, serving various customers that provide low-cost clean energy to millions of consumers.  <h2>Responsibilities</h2>JOB PURPOSEProvide technical support of development activities and project management overview of the construction of transmission facilities for wind and solar farms across the United States, with support to other markets as necessary.  Provide due diligence review of all project construction related documents, contracts, and field work.Key AccountabilitiesThe key responsibilities will include as a minimum the following in support of renewable projects:<ul> <li>Provide technical due diligence and budget review of transmission and other projects during the development phase.</li> <li>Review construction documents for completeness and compliance with utility interconnect agreements, power purchase agreements, land lease agreements, environmental permits, and good industry practice.</li> <li>Work with Pattern’s preconstruction and development groups in the development, solicitation, bid evaluation, contract review, and award of construction services contracts for various projects.</li> <li>Provide overview of interface with major equipment suppliers.  Ensure division of responsibility is coordinated between various stakeholders, EPC contractors and turbine supplier.  Ensures schedule and delivery provisions of major equipment agreements are compatible with project needs and EPC contract documents.</li> <li>Execute the construction of the projects; be accountable for the safety, quality, cost and schedule of the project.  Serve as the lead negotiator for scope and schedule specifics of the project.</li> <li>Work with and support construction managers on execution of projects. To include quality, safety, permitting and execution oversight.</li> <li>Provide overview of project interface with interconnect utility.  Ensure documents and drawings required by interconnect and power purchase agreements are provided in a timely manner.  Review monthly progress report to utilities.</li> <li>Participate in the management of third-party technical engineering support of project work, particularly relating to the design and performance of major equipment.</li> <li>Liaison with Independent Engineer’s review of active construction projects.  Ensure timely approval of design documents and resolves technical issues relating to project design.  Review and comment on Independent Engineer’s due diligence reports for active construction projects as well as development opportunities.</li> <li>Provide project interface with Pattern management and construction lenders.  Furnish weekly and monthly reports and status updates as required.</li> <li>Interface with EPC contractors to support execution of projects.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Experience/Qualifications/EducationEducational Experience<ul> <li>Six or more years progressive responsible experience in the power industry with significant EPC experience managing construction of high voltage transmission line and substation projects. Experience managing wind or solar or storage projects is a plus.</li> <li>Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering or construction management is desired.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to complete multi-million-dollar construction projects on schedule and within budget.  Field experience desirable.</li> <li>Large transmission line experience (345kV and higher) is preferred.</li></ul> Additional Requirements<ul> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and resolve multiple issues on multiple projects under demanding schedule constraints.</li> <li>Through understanding of construction contact concepts, language and terms.</li> <li>Knowledge of basic engineering concepts.  Familiarity with transmission and distribution equipment, transformers and substation equipment, overhead and underground cable installation, reactive power compensation equipment, and SCADA systems.</li></ul> Technical Skills<ul> <li>Facility with typical computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint).</li> <li>Scheduling application experience a plus (MS Project, Primavera).</li></ul> Travel<ul> <li>Approximately 25-50% annually.</li> <li>North America (U.S., Canada)</li></ul> The expected starting pay range for this role is $103,000 - $139,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
