<h2>Overview</h2>World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Digital Media Intern to join WWF’s Strategic Communications team. At WWF, we are working to create an organization where the richness of all our unique views, experiences, and backgrounds combine to create the most sustainable and inclusive conservation outcomes possible, bringing the greatest benefit to the planet and every person who lives on it. Position Summary: WWF seeks a creative and detail-oriented Digital Media Intern to join the Media &amp; External Affairs (MXA) team. This role will support media relations, influencer engagement, and digital content creation to help WWF reach new audiences, including Gen Z and Gen Alpha, while advancing our conservation mission.  The MXA team designs and executes media relations and influencer engagement strategies to support our conservation mission. The team engages in and influences the public discourse to advance priority conservation and advocacy goals; enhance WWF’s relevance with key partners; increase understanding and support for conservation and sustainability broadly; and help expand the thought leadership of WWF staff. <h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Support core media relations administrative and operational functions, including news monitoring and journalist list curation, among other tasks. </li> <li>Identify new journalist contacts and opportunities for earned media placement to reach new audiences, specifically Gen Z and Gen Alpha. </li> <li>Research emerging new media and digital outlets, trends in the new media landscape, and suggest effective ways to curate content for those outlets.</li> <li>Research new influencers across platforms (podcasters, youtubers, tiktokers, etc.) for WWF to engage; organize outreach lists for maximum efficiency for outreach and follow up. </li> <li>Assist with writing press and other media materials, including statements, talking points, blogs, and media advisories.</li> <li>Developing and editing vertical video content to support social media channels.</li> <li>Assist with producing WWF’s Nature Breaking podcast, including, but not limited to:</li> <li>Editing audio and video files post-recording, primarily executed via the Descript platform with additional fine-tuning done in Adobe Premiere.</li> <li>Curating and editing social media clips for podcast promotion.</li> <li>Transcribing podcast episodes for posting to WWF’s website.</li> <li>Helping to suggest new episodes, booking guests, and editorial calendar support.</li> <li>Additional duties as assigned. </li></ul>Learning Outcomes:<ul> <li>Gain hands-on experience in media relations and podcasting. </li> <li>Contribute to meaningful conservation efforts.</li> <li>Work with a passionate and supportive team.</li> <li>Opportunity for mentorship and professional development. </li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Strong writing skills. </li> <li>Proficiency in video editing and graphic design, with a focus on developing short video clips for social media (using Canva or other platforms). </li> <li>Excellent research skills. </li> <li>Attention to detail. </li> <li>Organized and self-motivated. </li> <li>Identifies and aligns with WWF’s core values: Courage, Integrity, Respect, and Collaboration. </li> <li>Demonstrates courage by speaking up even when it is difficult, or unpopular. </li> <li>Builds trust with colleagues by acting with integrity, owning mistakes, and holding oneself accountable. </li> <li>Welcomes other points of view and ideas, recognizing and embracing different and contrary perspectives with kindness, curiosity, and encouragement. </li> <li>Identifies and aligns with WWF’s core values: <ul> <li>COURAGE – We demonstrate courage through our actions, we work for change where it’s needed, and we inspire people and institutions to tackle the greatest threats to nature and the future of the planet, which is our home.</li> <li>INTEGRITY – We live the principles we call on others to meet.
