This senior individual contributor role is perfect for a technically strong engineer who enjoys addressing ambiguous problems, directing project course, and mentoring engineers while being hands-on in process design efforts.  In a technical leadership role on capital projects, you will own core process deliverables and guide technical decisions. You will also coordinate across engineering disciplines and support proposal development and project execution.  What you get to do<ul><li>Act as a technical lead for solving complex or high-risk engineering challenges on projects.</li><li>Develop and take responsibility for core process deliverables, including PFDs, P&amp;IDs, heat and material balances, equipment lists, and specifications with minimal direction.</li><li>Lead requirements gathering, concept and preliminary designs, and vendor engagement.</li><li>Build process models, diagrams, and drawings using CAD, simulation, and diagramming tools.</li><li>Review and approve critical engineering deliverables; provide technical mentorship and feedback.</li><li>Lead and participate in internal and client-facing design reviews and technical meetings.</li><li>Collaborate closely with mechanical, structural, electrical, controls, fabrication, and field service teams.</li><li>Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools, workflows, and standards.</li><li>Lead estimating, proposal development, and schedule creation in partnership with project management and business development teams.</li></ul>What you bring to the Team<ul><li>BS or MS in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).</li><li>10+ years of experience in industrial process equipment and/or capital project environments.</li><li>Proven technical leadership across chemical engineering capital projects.</li><li>Strong systems-level thinking and ability to manage technical tradeoffs.</li><li>Deep knowledge of chemical processing unit operations (fluids/solids handling, heat transfer, reactions, separations, drying) and relevant chemical process industry codes, standards, and regulations.</li><li>Experience developing and approving engineering deliverables.</li><li>Experience estimating engineering and overall project costs.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Experience mentoring and developing engineers.</li><li>Proficiency with engineering tools: AutoCAD (2D/3D) and/or SolidWorks,  Process simulation tools (ChemCAD preferred), Process diagramming tools (Visio preferred)</li><li>Ability to work on-site in Rochester, NY and/or Rush, NY. </li><li>Willingness to travel up to 25%.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license.</li><li>Recognized technical expertise in one or more process domains.</li><li>Experience influencing engineering standards or technical delivery within an organization.</li><li>Experience supporting field installation, commissioning, and startup.</li><li>Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.</li><li>Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.</li></ul>Compensation Range: Annual salary for this position is expected to be between $95,000 to $150,000 plus participation in our annual bonus plan and long-term incentive plan.
