Job PurposeThe Electrical / Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for day-to-day inspection and supervision of electrical and mechanical installation works related to stormwater drainage systems, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure. The role ensures that all works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards, maintaining compliance with RTA, DM, and AECOM’s QA/QC and HSE requirements.Job Duties<ul><li>Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps, motors, control panels, cabling, piping, valves, and related systems.</li><li>Verify that all installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.</li><li>Monitor and record the installation, alignment, and testing of pumping station mechanical and electrical systems.</li><li>Inspect cable routing, containment systems, termination, earthing, and control wiring, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.</li><li>Supervise installation of mechanical piping networks, valves, fittings, and support systems for stormwater infrastructure.</li><li>Ensure that all electrical and mechanical materials and equipment are approved, stored, and handled as per specifications.</li><li>Witness and record testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance, continuity, performance tests, and functional verification.</li><li>Monitor HVAC, lighting, power, control, and instrumentation works in pumping stations and utility structures.</li><li>Verify as-built data, coordinate with the contractor for redline updates, and ensure accuracy of final documentation.</li><li>Ensure that all QA/QC procedures, inspection requests (IRs), and ITPs are followed and properly documented.</li><li>Assist the Senior Engineers and Resident Engineer in issuing site observations and NCRs and verifying the contractor’s corrective actions.</li><li>Check calibration certificates and testing instruments used by the contractor to ensure compliance.</li><li>Monitor HSE practices during electrical and mechanical activities, ensuring safety compliance at all times.</li><li>Record and report daily manpower, equipment usage, and material deliveries relevant to M&amp;E works.</li><li>Participate in coordination meetings and liaise with other disciplines to resolve interface issues.</li></ul>Experience Requirements <ul><li>Minimum 7 years of experience in supervision and inspection of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater, drainage, or pumping station projects.</li><li>Proven experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, valves, control panels, switchgear, and mechanical systems.</li><li>Prior UAE experience, especially within Dubai, working under RTA and DM standards.</li><li>Familiarity with microtunneling interface works and associated pumping station systems is an advantage.</li><li>Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection checklists, and testing protocols.</li><li>Excellent documentation, coordination, and communication skills with a proactive and safety-focused approach.</li></ul>
