Timmons Group is looking for a talented Civil Designer or Senior Civil Designer to join our dynamic Land Development Group in Charleston, SC. The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of land development projects.  The complexity and fast paced nature of our client’s needs creates a dynamic environment for our team members and fosters a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and builds a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs. </li><li>Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.</li><li>Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy.</li><li>Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines.</li><li>Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges.</li><li>Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries.</li><li>Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.</li><li>Acts as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor and acts as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.</li></ul>Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:<ul><li>An ideal candidate will have at least five years of civil design experience.</li><li>Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D required.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to develop financial project management skills through assigned project work and assigned project management assignments.</li><li>Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.</li><li>A proactive, professional mindset with a focus on client success.</li></ul>
