This role is based at our Hudson, WI office and follows a hybrid work schedule.Roles and ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop and maintain mechanical documentation for standard components within designated databases.</li><li>Provide technical guidance for new component development in close collaboration with Product Managers and the Center of Competence (CoC).</li><li>Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities related to components and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Guide technical designs to ensure compliance with GEA standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulations, including USDA and 3-A.</li><li>Coordinate project activities as required with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including third-party suppliers, procurement, fabrication, quality control, design, automation, process engineering, project engineering, component engineering, and structural engineering.</li><li>Coordinate and support technical development activities, resolving engineering design and testing challenges.</li><li>Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, manufacturability, and applicable specifications.</li><li>Participate in design review meetings for key project components, including all new or customized components.</li><li>Collaborate with fabrication shops to optimize manufacturability and reduce overall costs.</li><li>Develop component technical specifications for the design team and actively participate in design reviews.</li><li>Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.</li><li>Create and maintain technical operating manuals detailing equipment operating characteristics.</li><li>Specify purchased (buyout) components and support procurement during price negotiations.</li><li>Coordinate project-specific structural engineering requirements.</li><li>Create and maintain item requirements within the ERP system.</li><li>Develop spare parts lists for assigned components.</li><li>Participate in USDA and 3-A workgroups as required.</li><li>Provide technical mentoring, leadership, and training to project teams.</li><li>Perform additional duties assigned by the line manager.</li></ul>Your Profile / QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li><li>Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.</li><li>Highly detail-oriented, organized, and methodical.</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.</li></ul>Profile and Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Food Science, or a related field).</li><li>Experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, FEA, and CAD software such as AutoCAD and/or Inventor.</li><li>Knowledge of 3-A and USDA regulations.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in dairy component technology or a related industry.</li><li>Familiarity with structural engineering is preferred.</li><li>Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.</li></ul>At GEA, we don’t just offer jobs, we offer opportunities to thrive, grow, and make an impact.#engineeringforthebetterPlease note: This position is based in the United States and does not offer visa or work sponsorship.
