This role provides tooling and mechanical design support for manufacturing operations, with a primary focus on the design, development, and delivery of custom tooling and fixtures supporting welding, fabrication, paint, and assembly processes across multiple vehicle product lines.YOUR IMPACT:  These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>Design and develop custom manufacturing tooling and fixtures to support safe, efficient, and repeatable production processes.</li><li>Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings for internal fabrication, machining, and external vendor sourcing.</li><li>Collaborate with plant engineering, manufacturing, and shop floor operators to gather tooling requirements and incorporate operator feedback into designs.</li><li>Apply mechanical design principles, including material selection, tolerance stack-up analysis, and fit/function validation.</li><li>Support prototype tooling builds, including limited use of additive manufacturing (3D printing) when applicable.</li><li>Coordinate with internal tool makers and external suppliers to support tool fabrication, procurement, trials, and validation.</li><li>Provide hands-on support during tool tryouts, production trials, and process adjustments on the manufacturing floor.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation, revisions, and configuration control using engineering data management systems.</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul>           STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Proficiency in CAD modeling software (CATIA with Windchill preferred)<ul><li>Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms acceptable with ability to ramp quickly</li></ul></li><li>Strong mechanical design aptitude, including:<ul><li>Understanding of material properties and basic material science</li><li>Ability to perform tolerance and stack-up analysis</li><li>Practical problem-solving for real-world manufacturing constraints</li></ul></li><li>Ability to interpret and produce manufacturing-ready drawings with GD&amp;T fundamentals.</li><li>Experience or coursework in tool design, fixture design, or mechanical design.</li><li>Exposure to heavy equipment, automotive, industrial manufacturing, or similar environments.</li><li>Familiarity with vendor coordination, sourcing, and build support for tooling or mechanical components.</li><li>Hands-on manufacturing experience through internships, co-ops, or shop-floor collaboration.</li><li>Experience supporting prototype builds or production launches.</li><li>Internship in a relevant engineering space.</li><li>Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.</li><li>Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.</li><li>Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.</li><li>Analytical and problem-solving skills.</li></ul>Pay Range:$57,600.00 - $90,400.00<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div>The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
