Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor next year at the Idaho National Laboratory, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.</p></div><p><strong><span>Welding Specialist</span></strong></p><p>Radiant is seeking a highly skilled Welding Specialist to join our engineering team. In this role, you will work directly with the Lead Welding Engineer in a collaborative, closed-loop environment to develop and bring our innovative nuclear reactor to life. This position demands hands-on expertise in welding processes, quality assurance, and production support within a dynamic startup setting.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities and Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, implement, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQs) for structural and pressure vessel welds.</li><li>Collaborate with the production team to write planning and pathfinding processes for welding operations.</li><li>Design and fabricate weld tooling to support manufacturing needs.</li><li>Perform hands-on welding as needed to train technicians on proper welding techniques.</li><li>Track and ensure all welding and inspections comply with governing code requirements.</li><li>Conduct audits of welding performed at suppliers.</li><li>Identify and source new assets to enhance in-house welding capabilities.</li><li>Order consumables, tooling, and other materials required for welding operations.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Skills and Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Associate degree or higher in Welding Technology, Materials Science, or a related field is preferred.<ul><li>Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and significant relevant work experience are strongly encouraged to apply.</li></ul></li><li>Proven experience performing and/or planning for GTAW, GMAW, OTW, Laser welding (robotic or handheld), and/or other processes in a production environment.</li><li>Ability to perform welding tasks independently.</li><li>Strong skills in teaching and mentoring technicians on welding best practices.</li><li>Expertise in tracking welding processes and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset for working in a fast-paced team.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Skills and Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>AWS certifications such as CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), CW (Certified Welder), or CWS (Certified Welding Supervisor).</li><li>Experience with non-destructive testing methods including RT (Radiographic Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), and VT (Visual Testing).</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with design and operations teams.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.</li><li>Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo Headquarters.</li></ul><div><div><div><p>This is a non-exempt hourly role eligible for overtime pay.</p></div><div>Hourly Range</div><div><span>$45</span><span>—</span><span>$61 USD</span></div></div></div><div><p><strong>Total Compensation and Benefits</strong><br>Radiant compensates people for impact and invests in those who continue to raise the bar.
