About the position As a Software Engineer, you will dive into complex, high-stakes technical challenges where precision matters. You will drive the design and validation of scalable platform services and robust software architectures, serving as the critical digital backbone for our in-orbit satellite applications. You won't just build features; you’ll build the foundation that keeps our satellites operational in space.  Location   This role operates on a hybrid model. While our primary preference is Buenos Aires, we are open to hiring in Córdoba, Argentina or Montevideo, Uruguay, utilizing our local office hub. Availability to travel is required, specifically to the facility in Uruguay. Responsibilities <ul><li>Design, develop and validate in orbit application software for our satellite systems.</li><li>Enhance and maintain existing software by expanding test coverage and improving documentation.</li><li>Collaborate with the software development team, actively contributing to discussions, and participating in peer reviews to ensure high-quality code.</li><li>Provide expert-level support for the satellite operations team.</li></ul> About youEducation<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>4+ years of experience architecting and integrating scalable software solutions.</li><li>4+ years of professional experience developing software in Python.</li><li>2+ years of experience developing embedded software.</li><li>Proven experience in the full software development life cycle (design, coding, testing, documenting and debugging).</li><li>Proficiency in GNU/Linux for software development.</li></ul>Technical skills<ul><li>Deep understanding of SOLID principles, Design Patterns, and System Modeling.</li><li>Expertise in architectural abstraction of multifaceted hardware and software systems.</li><li>Expertise in Python and Bash scripting.</li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Proficiency with Docker or other container technologies.</li><li>Strong knowledge of git and version control platforms like GitLab.</li><li>Understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP protocols.</li><li>Experience with software packaging, versioning, and distribution.</li></ul>Interpersonal skills<ul><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Advanced English proficiency.</li><li>A strong capacity for continuous learning and a passion for innovation.</li></ul>Valued skillsWhile not mandatory, experience in the following areas will help you stand out and accelerate your impact within the team<ul><li>Experience with agile methodologies like Scrum.</li><li>Knowledge of GNU/Linux OS boot process, device drivers, and process management.</li><li>Familiarity with low-level communication protocols such as I2C, RS232, SPI, and CAN.</li><li>Familiarity with Go (Golang) is a plus.</li></ul> Diversity Commitment  Satellogic values diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer.
