We are seeking a Controller to bring structure, discipline, and leadership to our core financial processes. This leader will build and own the company’s accounting infrastructure, strengthen financial controls, and institutionalize rigor across hardware, manufacturing, and recurring revenue operations.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a high-impact role for a hands-on, detail-oriented rising star who thrives in a scaling environment and wants to help architect a world-class finance function.</p><p><br></p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><p><strong>Controllership &amp; Core Accounting</strong></p><ul><li>Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes</li><li>Build, document, and enforce robust financial policies and internal controls</li><li>Oversee AR/AP, general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting</li><li>Ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness across all accounting activities</li><li>Implement and maintain ASC 606 revenue recognition processes, including for hardware-enabled recurring services and multi-element arrangements</li><li>Complex contract management </li></ul><p><strong>Manufacturing, Inventory &amp; Cost Accounting</strong></p><ul><li>Establish and optimize inventory processes, documentation, and controls</li><li>Implement appropriate costing methodologies (FIFO, serialized inventory, standard costing, etc.)</li><li>Partner with hardware engineering and operations on build cycles, BOMs, and manufacturing discipline</li><li>Support supplier quality, demand planning, and supply chain financial processes</li></ul><p><strong>Financial Operations &amp; Process Improvement</strong></p><ul><li>Improve systems, data integrity, and accuracy &amp; speed of financial reporting</li><li>Strengthen the internal control environment and streamline workflows</li><li>Increase scalability of accounting processes as volume and complexity grow</li><li>Drive continuous improvement across finance operations and cross-functional processes</li></ul><p><strong>Systems, Tools &amp; Automation</strong></p><ul><li>Administer and optimize NetSuite as the core ERP</li><li>Support integration and data flow between NetSuite, HubSpot, and other business systems</li><li>Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve reporting quality</li><li>Select and implement PLM and ERP system </li></ul><p><strong>Cross-Functional Partnership</strong></p><ul><li>Work closely with the CFO and FP&amp;A Lead to align accounting and forecasting</li><li>Collaborate with operations, hardware, product, supply chain, and quality teams</li><li>Support broader program management and cross-functional decision-making</li><li>Provide accounting guidance for customer contracts, deployments, and commercial structures</li></ul><h2>What we’re looking for</h2><h3><strong>Required</strong></h3><ul><li>4 or more years of progressive accounting and controllership experience</li><li>Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition, especially for hardware plus recurring service offerings</li><li>Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, manufacturing processes, and cost accounting</li><li>Familiarity with NetSuite (ERP) and HubSpot (CRM)</li><li>Proven ability to build, test, and document internal controls</li><li>Experience managing or directly performing monthly close processes</li><li>Highly detail-oriented with strong technical accounting skills</li><li>Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving processes</li></ul><h3><strong>Preferred</strong></h3><ul><li>CPA designation</li><li>Public accounting foundation (Big 4 or strong regional firm) with a transition into industry</li><li>Experience in hardware, IoT, manufacturing, or hardware-enabled SaaS environments</li><li>Prior work in companies with capital-intensive or supply-chain–heavy operations</li><li>Experience supporting audits, implementing controls, or building first-time accounting infrastructures</li></ul><h2>What makes this role unique</h2><p>You will build the accounting backbone of a company operating at the intersection of hardware, software, and services in the utility technology space.
