We are driven by an ambition to shape the future of energy storage and deliver products that accelerate the global transition to electrification.  What we need: We are seeking a technically savvy, analytically minded Product Manager who is excited about shaping the next generation of QuantumScape’s battery products. In this role, you will drive the creation of MRDs and PRDs, define performance and design requirements rooted in robust datasets, and serve as a key liaison between Product, R&amp;D, Engineering, and business stakeholders. You’ll play a central role in shaping our product roadmap, ensuring our technology aligns with customer needs, competitive benchmarks, and market opportunities. Because this is a highly cross‑functional position, we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑changing environment, enjoys solving complex technical and strategic problems, and can translate ambiguity into clarity. If you are passionate about building category‑defining technology, challenging conventions, and driving alignment across teams, we’d love to hear from you.  What You’ll do: <ul><li>Develop and maintain Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) for target applications and segments. Create and manage high‑quality product requirement documents across the QuantumScape product portfolio to guide internal development and alignment.</li><li>Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from internal testing, customer feedback, competitive benchmarks, and third‑party sources to define performance, reliability, safety, and design specifications that inform product and cell development.</li><li>Serve as the subject matter expert for technical requirements—including performance, safety, and qualification needs—across lithium‑ion and next‑generation energy‑storage technologies. Evaluate competitive technologies to assess strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning.</li><li>Act as a key liaison between Product, R&amp;D, Engineering, and Business teams to ensure alignment and clarity on specifications, performance requirements, and product objectives throughout the development lifecycle.</li><li>Support the development and ongoing refinement of QuantumScape’s product roadmap, ensuring strategic alignment with company goals, technology maturation, and market opportunities.</li><li>Integrate technical and market insights into roadmap to ensure products are meeting the evolving needs of QuantumScape customers and target segments.</li><li>Coordinate with stakeholders to communicate performance updates, product milestones, and component specifications.</li></ul>  Skills You’ll Need: <ul><li>5+ years of experience with a B.A./B.S. or 3+ years and Master’s degree required preferably in engineering, engineering management, engineering operations, or related business field</li><li>4+ Years’ experience of product management experience, preferably in the lithium-ion industry or adjacent field.</li><li>Application of scientific programming (e.g., Python) and statistical methods to analyze large datasets</li><li>Must have highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills with the ability to tackle complex challenges in a fast-changing environment </li></ul>  Nice to have: <ul><li>Strong understanding of current lithium-ion technology and performance capability, the current competitive landscape, and application-specific performance requirements </li><li>Experience with PLM systems</li></ul> Physical requirements: <ul><li>N/A</li></ul>  ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position.  As an on-site R&amp;D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.   Compensation &amp; Benefits: Expected salary range for this role is from $129,700 to $175,100, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan.
